Core2Duo 2.66Ghz E6750

2gb Ram

nVidia GeFroce 8300gs

Im not sure what motherboard or anything but its still exactly how it come 5months ago except Firewire card.

I've tried every version of NVInjectGO for my GeForce Go 7900 GS. I remember it worked fine on iATKOS, but I can't get the damn thing working on Leo4Allv3. jpsiemer, make sure you didnt install two kexts or more, happened to me in kalyway and I was stuck at one resolution, I would install the kext from the install dvd with pacifist again

 

Anonymous one, the specs look fine but Im not sure about the video card, check the first page and if its listed there then you should be fine, if its not listed then do a forum search. Also make sure you find out what kind of wireless card and wired internet you have and check them with the first page.

So, as far as the 9400 is concerned: no dual core, no wireless and the x1400 doesn't work properly either? Think I might give it a miss

Yeah it's hard not being a real mac and even worse being a Dell! if it wasn't a Dell then we would have both cores...sigh oh well the one core works fine enough for me until I get into video editing, in which case I'll boot into windows.

 

Fortunately the wireless issue is as simple as buying a ten dollar card off ebay that fits right in place of the stock wireless.

Does anyone have an idea how to boot with 2 cores on, because sleep works just fine ?

On Leo4All v 2 i had no problems with the CPU but the PS2 Driver ?!

If u are using GFX string install the stock nVidia kexts for 10.5.2 and the NVinject driver for your card and boot with -f option

I had same problem with Leo4All v3

EDIT: Oh and FYI: I get NO artifacting on my gma950 with Kalyway 10.5.2 running vanilla!!

what is your secret? btw. I thought I got rid of the tearing at some point also. However, once I installed some memory hungry programs (e.g. MS Office, ChemDraw...) the tearing came back.

Well I haven't tried any memory hungry programs per se but the mouse and everything around looks normal, I only had one issue and that was when I used firefox it would occasionaly remember the picture of the mouse cursor but that has only happened in firefox (would you consider that tearing?).

 

Otherwise just a completely stock install with the gma950 kext selected etc.

I just installed Leopard graphics update on my inspiron 6400. After a restart, gma 950 works, but only external screen (laptop screen black).

 

Is there any way to get internal screen to work with Leopard Graphics Update appleintegratedframebuffer.kext, or do I have to go back to the old one with artifacts ?

 

And speeking of dual core, dell just needs to write a new bios that supports ahci (am i correct?).

damn, I thought you had a solution. what you observe in firefox is mouse tearing, yes. if you use other memory hungry programs such as MS Word, you will see the mouse will leave trails of the curser on your document. There are workarounds (mouse pose), but only to a limited degree. Most noticable is a square right under the apple menu top left when you use such programs. if you do not have memory hungry programs installed it acts perfectly, very deceiving. still hoping for a fix then. until then it's mousepose for me. thanks for the clarification.

sorry, I've been there too. and the answer is yes, you need to get your old integratedframebuffer.kext back to get it to work. gma950 is not playing nice with graphics update on dells.

and what is up with my gma950 only reading as 64mb shared memory instead of 224 like in windows? Is there a plist or something I can edit to fix this?

 

Yeah {censored}, mouse tearing, at least it's next to inexistant, I've only seen it in firefox. and the artifacting isn't that often either but still *sigh* it is there.

Josftx, is this the E1705 that you're talking about?

 

I went to Dell's Support site, and this A08 update came out on April 11, 2007. A09 is already out.

I'm running iATKOS and having trouble with power management. I installed the ACPIPlatform and patched power management bundle but I still get no sleep, but more importantly, no battery meter and my computer seems to be running really hot. What do I do?

i started mac with my 640m (1405) by installing Kalyway 10.5.2 version.

 

The sound is the most troublesome part in my computer.

Using AppleHDA patch, i manage get sound out of speaker and headphone. But, speaker doesnt mute when headphone plugs in . Mic is not working at all.

 

I tried install sigmaltel9200_dell9400 package, interesting thing is headphone pluged in and speaker mute. However, no sound to headphone, and mic still not working.

 

if any one had managed to install sound with all working, please kindly help me.

sorry, but I don't think this was ever solved for sigmaltel9200. I never tried the microphone. but I know that there is no fix for muting speakers when you plugin your headphones. I am using a USB thumb soundcard that came with my headset. works great and mutes speakers.

I am trying to install kalyway 10.5.2 on my 1520 laptop but it locks up before it reaches the installer. Can anybody help me.

 

My specs are

Intel pentium dual core T2330 1.6GHz

2GB Ram

160GB 5400rpm Hard Drive

NVIDIA 8400m 128mb Graphics card

Sigmatel 92xx STAC high definition

 

I can get leo4all to install, but i can't get graphics to work on it (i.e. no QI only software CI and only at 1024x768, not ar 1440x900)

Kalyway was supposed to be good for this laptop so i thought I'd give it a try.

Sorry, with the iATKOS power management problem, I forgot to mention that I'm on an Inspiron E1505.

also important which graphics card you have. I can tell you that there is no real solution for gma950 users on E1505. You can get it to "sleep" with the lid closing, but it's actually not real sleep (the power button is not blinking, but steady). So, it kinda works. If you bring the system to sleep via apple menu it will wake up to a black screen - well known for gma950. This should work with Nvidia cards as others have posted though. powermanagement works with these kexts. You also need to make sure you have the right kernel with this. it's either sleep or speedstep kernel. the one that allows sleep will not allow full powermanagement.

it would help people if you posted your system specs, most importantly which dell, graphics card...from your comment "v8" I guess you refer to EFI. You may have to use the "correct" kernel is my first guess. but without knowing your system it's just guessing. let us know.
