Hi everyone, I've been following this post since I have a Dell Latitude and I'm trying to get sleep working to get the dual core workaround going. I'm having no luck getting it to work with the iATKOS release.

I've tried the following string in terminal: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0but get this error: Error 0xe00002c9 writing customized power profiles to disk. Is there something else required to get sleep working? Thanks much!

Use different AppleSMBIOS. You can use vanilla, paulicat, netkas (inside pc_efi v8) or macdotnub (attached in first post) to get sleep working.

New PowerManagement.bundle doesn't work for me also.

Same prob here with Vanilla and kalyway.

I'm not completely agree with that: maybe it work for you, but (on last leopard's releases) sleep works especially with vanilla's kernel. Applesmbios is a part of the problem, nothing more.

Powermanagement don't work here.

however, i noticed that right after the installation, before applying applehdapatcher (i am using 1.1.6) the system can be shutdown properly.

One thing I have noticed with the iATKOS v1.0i install (this can be replicated on a different machine) is that CandyBar 3.1.1 seems to freeze when loading 'My Icons' which then eventually leads to an application crash.

I have tried reverting to 100% stock 10.5.1 kext's with the exception of macdotnub's AppleSMBIOS.kext, tbcarey's AppleHDA.kext and the 10.4.6 IONetworkingFamily.kext, but this hasn't helped the problem.

Can anyone else using iATKOS give CandyBar a quick test for me?

Cheers.

EDIT: Just found out that it was basically the stupid iATKOS customizations that was causing CandyBar to crash. I put the MacOSX.tif and SystemVersion.plist back to stock and it works fine :)

Thanks for the help Chrysaor! I managed to get pc_efi v8 from IRC. Is it possible to upgrade efi in iATKOS without reinstalling Leopard? All the guides I've managed to find are for new instalations. I assume I use the AppleSMBIOS that come with it, it appears to be a Netkas bundle. Also I'm running an MBR partition, do I need version 8 or should I use version 5.2? One last question, does anyone know what version of efi iATKOS uses? Thanks again for the help! This is the best guide I've found: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73952

I don't have candybar but will try to install and test later tonight and get back to you.

You may want to try Natit I believe it is version .2 or 2. I got it working with that first and then upgraded to NVinject. The one time it I did install Natit by itself it would hand on a black screen for about ten seconds after the apple white screen and then boot. I found that installing titan first then natit solved that issue but like I said right now I'm running NVinject. By the way my card is recognized as the go 7400 and I 'm pretty sure the 7300 is similar. Hope this helps.

Hi again, I got my installation working but on an external Drive, So I want to transfer it to my main hdd, I opened up disk util and imaged the hdd and put it into my internal hdd, but it will not boot.

Maybe using chain 0 along with vista boot loader and bcedit?

Any other ideas?

Yup it's different alright, just posting what worked for me. Essentially if I remember correctly the NVS 120 is essentially an Nvidia 7400 go and the NVS 110 is an Nvidia 7300 go, the only differnce is the onnboard memory 128 vs 256.

was able to try it on mine today and it worked. however the downside is that I cannot shutdown properly (need to power off using the power button). ah well, nothing is perfect.

edit: updated PM in same post, working now here.

in the same thread here DualBoot or use this guide if you have vista installed and try to dual boot of course. you can use tboot (instead of chain0) also, as it boots from extended partitions also.

I'm really confused Now. I'm reading for the last 5 days with Tons of new words. It is like chineeeeeeeesssssss to me.

Anyhow, I got Kalyway and I have Dell inspiron 6400. After booting from the DVD, and pressing F8.

DO I HAVE TO TYPE -v ???

or shall I type cpu=1?

or Vanilla?

or Do not press anything?

sorry, but there are a number of instructions on how to install these. sorry you didn't find those threads. if you pop you dvd in to the drive and you tell your bios to boot from the dvd drive and it starts up, it asks you to press a key to boot from the dvd, otherwise it will boot your default os that's anywhere on your drives. you hit a key and it will start the installer. at some point (can take up to 10-15 minutes) you get a welcome screen from which you continue the installation by clicking through and picking the right options for your system. you may well try all the default options, they should work.

good luck

Please note that I am absolutely new to this, and I know nothing of kexts an plists and whatever else, so if you could give a fair bit of detail, or perhaps a link where i can see how to do what i need to do.
