:P Someone might want to let irc.osx86.hu/#10.4.10 they are distro'ing a corrupt System.kext ... Maybe I'll do that later.

Are there any benefits to .3 over .1 that you guys know of?

Anyway, thanks devilhood! You rock.

EDIT: Thanks also for attaching, looks like mac.nub is experiencing some popularity... hehe.

Yeah, thanks to him and Gotoh we have now have a working 8800 driver :)

A little bit of insider info: mac.nub has put together a 10.4.10 Mac DVD install disc that I'm going to test tonight. If everything goes well, the disc will be torrented, and believe me, this disc will probably be the first properly organized release to grace the hackintosh world :thumbsup_anim:

Is there a mute fix for Sigmatel 9200 that doesn't have a subwoofer? I'm currently running 10.4.9 1.4i r3 on a E1405 and it doesn't have a subwoofer... I'm not really worried about muting when I have headphones plugged it but just muting the sound in general.

Hey gburnham, I tried replacing the AppleHDA.kext as you suggested and now it seemed to disable my sound entirely. Is there something I may have done wrong? I first used the AppleHDAPatcher v1.6 with the Sigmatel9200.txt (which got sound working but no mute). When I replaced the AppleHDA.kext, it can't detect any audio output devices anymore...

Make sure you do the following things when you install it:

Delete orginal AppleHDA.kext and ALCinject.kext

Replace with the new ones

Delete /system/library/extensions/extensions.kextcache and extensions.mkext

Delete /library/preferences/com.apple.audio.devicesettings.plist

Repair Permissions, Reboot, choose the second output as your selected device!

I did everything you posted and after osx loaded up, I got an error saying "System Extension cannot be used. The system extension " /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used..."

So I repatched using AppleHDA patcher and the same Sigmatel9200.txt dump, repaired permissions, rebooted, and followed your instructions except this time, I didn't replace the ALCinject.kext, and I'm back to the beginning again, no sound, no output devices found. I'm starting to think that my sigmatel 9200 hardware is incompatible =/ .......

That would be nice, a new 4.10 DVD!

I tried the Kalyway 4.10 DVD and it works, but the known keychain problem is here too and i can't even install World of Warcraft :P .

So now i am running Uphuck's 4.9 DVD, the 1.4r3 release and that one works excellent for me, except it's 4.9, so can't install iWorks08 :( .

Also tried updating to 4.10 with KoolKal, but that installer crashes sometimes and if it does install it ruins my installation...

Now tried the PascalW update (which was hard to get) and same again, altho i got a blue screen now and then the message comes "You need to restart your computer blablabla".

Is there a workaround for that?

Thanks alot!

Oh, btw, i have a Inspiron 9400 ;) and ordered a Dell 1490 WLAN card yesterday for 10 USD so i can use wireless properly :) .

Maybe it's already mentioned here a couple of pages back, but i want to share my thing.

If the update with KoolKal or PascalW fails then go verbose mode.

I did that and found out that the problem was the SpeedStep program which you can install with uphuck!

To be sure i did a new install, all the same config except the SpeedStep application and update that later with PascalW's 4.10 update and guess?

It worked, now i have 4.10 and it's working like a charm :(.

Maybe it's useful for some ppl having the same problems :(.

Change the permissions on ALCinject.kext. That's something I can't do and that Disk Repair won't do (because it's not a standard kernel extension). Run terminal, go to /System/Library/Extensions, and 'sudo chmod 755 ALCinject.kext && sudo chown root:wheel ALCinject.kext'  and enter your admin password. Should work then with the original kext, but not the version I had released for 10.4.10.

Quick reply on my end, sorry. I'm going to try to release the non-sub version of the kext very soon, but haven't touched things since the last post, unfortunately.  Will get on it!

ffpiano: 10.4.10 is necessary for that kext, sorry I didn't say that in advance...

It's alright. Thanks for your help and efforts though- greatly appreciated

tbcarey, I did what you suggested after repatching with the original audio dump and it didn't seem to change anything lol. Then again, I only received the ALCinject.kext error after replacing it with the one for 4.10 lol.

Hi everybody!!

I had the same issue. But just deleting the SpeedStep folder from Library>StartupItems before upgrading with koolkal made the install like a charm:)

I'm going to try to release the non-sub version of the kext very soon, but haven't touched things since the last post, unfortunately. Will get on it!

Take your time, you are doing a whole lot of good stuff for us so we aren't rushing you hehe. You're the man!

I know the feeling, my Dellintosh have sound only from headphones jack  but at least I could use Exernal speakers or headphones.

That´s kind of what im after, as I never use the internal speakers. Do you run 10.4.10? I can`t seem to get any kext`s running here :/ No sound at all. Would you mind helping me out a little bit?

Did you run the AppleHDA Patcher ?

I think i got it working, almost. I used original 10.4.10 kext file with Stac9200.txt codec dump. The only problem now is that it only uses the internal speakers. I would like it to only use the jack/headphones. :D Clues?
