@Chrysaor

can u write down, the whole installation process u've done, to get all things working.

i tried the jas 10.4.8 with sse3 without any mods, than boot with cpus=2 and installed jas 10.4.9, after that i installed official 10.4.10 update and take the 8.9.1 kernel from netkas and the appleACPI kext from backup... now if i try to go sleep, it works, but after wake he reboots..

write down which dvd u used and which kext u had to exchange

Recently I upgraded my 7800 to 7900GS (free from Dell ;) ) and noticed display sleep is lost (display will go black if it sleeps, if system sleeps and wakes up display will work fine). Does anyone have display sleep working with 7900GS?

when i had osx on mi E1705, 7900GS working out the box with NvidiaEFI and Laptop Display when turn to sleep my laptop. and wokes up fine.

regarding the AppleHDApatcher...i ran 1.15 and 1.16 and tried to drag the dump over to the window, but nothing happens.

i'm running uphuck's 10.4.9.

i'm using a dump that i got from here, it's in the form of a text file.

getting internal audio to work is a huge deal, otherwise i would have to hook up a usb soundstick and speakers

I figured I'd go ahead and install MacOS again despite the sound issue, since I just realized iwork 08 is out now (I'm an iwork fiend), but now I've run into some more problems. I am using the uphuck 10.4.9 v 1.4i on an e1505. Sleep doesnt work (even after installing that ACPI package from the guide and using theterminal command), but sleep isnt too big a deal. My main issue is with bluetooth. I have a bluetooth headset that I would like to use, but when I try to set up my headset it says that bluetooth headsets are not supported by my hardware, even though the headset worked fine in linux and windows, the guide says bluetooth works perfectly so I'm guessing there musrt be additional steps I need to take to get it working, if so what are the steps? Or does the bluetooth not work perfectly and that part just hasnt been updated yet?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

got the dual boot to work but when it loads osx it loads up a little bit then will just stop, or the screen will turn black and nothing will load anymore. At one point i booted into osx and into the welcome video. but it played really choppy and eventually stalled and stopped working again. Anyone know what this is? i have a dell inspiron 6400 core 2 duo and by my research everything should boot fine but it just isn't. please help

mm i find some fix to AHCI Hack support but for linux kernel(works for Sony VAIO type S VGN-SZ92PS, ICH7-M)

).. i hope that helps for someone that hack the darwin kernels.

heres the link

http://www.bughost.org/pipermail/power/2007-June/000538.html

As far as I know, this will not work because there is no AHCI BIOS for the controller itself, Dell Inc. have told me this themselves (check some of the earlier posts in this thread).

If it works on the Sony VAIO, it means that they have included the BIOS but have not enabled the functionality, which is pretty weird.

I might be completely wrong though... and Dell might have communicated some mis-information to me, so if someone is willing to look into this more thoroughly to see how that kernel fix works, that would be cool.

is it suppose to do anything to let me know it did something?

i dragged it to the icon at the bottom and the one on the desktop area, but nothing seems to happen..i have ran disk utility to verify and repair permissions and rebooted and still no sound

mmm...This is the original post, http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-ide@vger...g/msg09763.html.

but i have a question, if someone find a solution for activate AHCI on the bios, this will fix the trouble of both cores? or i'm completely wrong?

I got my video card acceleration working by putting 0x71451002 (I think that's what it was) into the Info.plist for apple's ATIX1000 and it works fine, but i get mouse tearing. Any solutions for that? I only need the video acceleration for parallels. Is there a way to turn off the acceleration in OSX and on only for Parallels?

1405 install issues, bios A10

I've had osx on this for a while now, and decided to try the newest versions to see if anything improved, I never got sound or sleep to work.

I'm using the stock plain jane uphack 1.3 universal

install went smooth, I've got 1 issue

sleep works, but it wont wake up, the drive spins but the LCD does not wake up, it seems like it's a video issue?, this is after installing power management bundle, and performing "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0" same issue I had 8 months ago or so when I started playing with osx, but speedstep is working now though!

I cant use paulicat's fix for sleep because that's for 8.8.1 and i'm on 8.9.x

sound works at last!

now if I can just get sleep to work, as a side note, there used to be a place in the dell bios to set the power save mode, it's gone, I cant find it anywhere, A10 removed it or hid it from me

josftx: first site and search for dual core...

chrysaor: pls tell us, in which clean follow u have installed ur dell to get all thinks working.

i spend about 12 h for reinstalling on other drive with all kind of version, ether uphuck 1.3 and 1.4 and tried many kernels, but dont know the combination of thies components.

on the other drive i run the system i show in my signatur, but i dont know how i get it B)

the thing is, i cant get sleep working if i use speedstep program/kernel and with 1.3 and macdotnub package i get sleep but nor wake. use Natit 02 dual and nvidiaefi 1.0.2 and laptopdisplay for fixing color branding

also i had this WE 10 h of xbox360 flashing which make me agressive and dempresive at the same time, cuase i dont work and have no POWER to spend other 12 h on my 9400...

I found something interesting on the e1405 dell gma950 laptop I have

With a stock uhuck 1.3 install, the laptop will enter some form of sleep when I shut the lid

when I open the lid it partly wakes up, but the lcd will not, when I hook up an external LCD, it wakes up the laptop display

I can repeat this over and over

if I hit the power button and tell it to sleep, it will not wake up at all, I'm thinking this is a lower level of sleep, vs shutting the laptop lid

I'm not sure if there's a way to wire a loopback into the VGA port to trigger the laptop screen to wake up

chrysaor: pls tell us, in which clean follow u have installed ur dell to get all thinks working.

There is no magical way to install and get everything working. My installation is quite old, I believe it was from a 4.7 or 4.8 DVD. It doesn't matter how and which dvd you install as long as you put the right drivers after installation. My system is fully updated with latest Apple software updates except the obvious stuff like kernel, smbios, hda, nvidiaefi etc. (all detailed in sig)

No one else is using Go 7900GS here? (for display sleep issue)

hi, im really starting to struggle to find any new information on my problem....

i have an inspiron 6400, but the older model, with only a core solo and the x1300 mobility

i was wandering if there is actually a working solution for this card to get it into 1280x800?

all of the drivers like natit and the x1300 ones that come on uphuck 1.4i dont work, they either cause my system to hang when "starting mac osx" or to just give me no video output at all after darwin

any help would be great, thanks!!!
