fra Posted August 30, 2005 Share Posted August 30, 2005 Using deadmoo´s image ASUS A8N-SLI Premium + AMD64 Venice + GF6600TD boot options: platform=X86PC "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" patchs: - CoreGraphics HARDWARE DOES WORK - MARVELL 1000Gb (recognized as fw0, wake up with "ifconfig fw0 10.0.0.11 create" ) - VESA 3.0 with CoreGraphics patch DOES'NT WORK - AC97 Audio Codec - NFORCE ethernet SOFTWARE - all preinstalled apz: iTunes, QuickTime, ETC - rosetta seams to work OK COMMENTS: runs very very very well, fast, stable, even without hardware graphs accel. Can acces ntfs volumes (readonly), fat32 (rw). Couldn´t instal darwine. Thats why ANY firewire device will work on ANY firewire enabled machine. I could be wrong, but thats how i thought it would work. Firewire typically isn't even used for networking (at least in the sense of how things like TCP/IP work), it just has that capability. I've used it to transfer between computers before, since it is a bit faster than 100mb ethernet. But, 99.9% of the time it is just used to connect to mass storage devices, digital video, etc. (and it is better and a little faster than USB2, even if USB2 has a theoretical max of 480Mb/s instead of 400Mb/s.)
