huyntvn13
I'm having this error all the times I tried to mount in Disk Utility: localhost diskarbitrationd(44): unable to mount /dev/disk0s1 (status code 0x00000047) localhost diskarbitrationd(44): unable to mount /dev/disk0s2 (status code 0x00000047) localhost diskarbitrationd(44): unable to mount /dev/disk0s3 (status code 0x00000047) localhost diskarbitrationd(44): unable to mount /dev/disk0s4 (status code 0x00000047) (I saw this error message with -v option) I've tried to delete the partition, then reformated it to FAT32, then reboot, go to Disk Utility, format it to Mac os x journaled, but still cant mount all the partitions, even if format them to HFS+ => I can't select any volumes to install Anyone knows this issue, help me plz! HibariYa
I've tried to delete the partition, then reformated it to FAT32, then reboot, go to Disk Utility, format it to Mac os x journaled, but still cant mount all the partitions, even if format them to HFS+=> I can't select any volumes to install I wonder why you reformatted this hard drive into FAT32 first, you could make partitions of the hard drive only. But, the most important is what solution you DO need in this hard drive. In the partition page of Disk Utility, you should select an Advance option as GUID or MBR in partition table's bottom. If you plan to dual boot for OSX or Windows from your system, the method named MBR will be more suitable. Or you wish to boot your system only in OSX, make your selection in the option named GUID better. Wish this helpful for you!
yeehaa
anyone has the same problem??? same problem here. diskutil formats the partition i want to HFSJ. but once the formatting is done, it again shows up as unmounted and fat32. when i boot into windows, the partition shows up as HFSJ and not as FAT32. tried iPC and IDeneb (both 10.5.6). the see the harddisk, but cant mount the disk or partitions. the funny thing, i had a perfectly working iPC on this partition before. one fine morning, it decided to stop workin and gave me a chain boot error which wont go away. now the same install DVD wont work!! Salman Arif
What live cd are you referring to? I'm having the same problem and can't find any other working solution (except potentially yours) elsewhere...
