hey,

I had bootcamp workin on my alu imac (24" 2,4 ghz, 2 gig ram) but it was sp2 and i needed sp3 for GTA 4, so i tried to install sp3 on it, but it crashed resulting in a unbootable windows partition. So i decided to give it a try with a sp3 install cd. I removed the windows partition with bootcamp assistant, made a new one and tried to install xp. All went fine, but when the imac rebooted after copying the installation files it says: hal.dll missing. I tried reinstalling it several times (on new partitions etc) but it gave me everytime the same error. i googled it, but i didn't find working solutions. i tried reinstalling it with the same sp2 cd as before, but again that stupid error. Then i tried it with a 29 gb partition, formated as fat32 but then it gave me another error: disk error.

What is wrong? Do i make a mistake in the xp setup program? I deleted the bootcamp partition everytime (except when i tried it with the 29 gb fat32 partition) and made a new one with a ntfs structure to install windows on.

ps: the first time i tried to install from a sp3 cd, it was working fine, but windows wouldn't install the bootcamp drivers, so i tried to install it again and since then the problems began.

any help is very much appreciated!
