TallTania
Hi guys, this is the setup for my new OSx86 Boot-32 computer. Can anyone advice me and tell me if all the componets I have chosen will work "right out of the box" using the new Boot-32 bootloader? realityiswhere
Despite what you may have heard, audio/video never work "out of the box", it's likely that you'll need to patch both and the ethernet, unless that motherboard has a natively supported card, which I doubt. TallTania
So, I don't really need a nVidia video card, if I have to patch it anyway. Will I have problems if I choose an ati? Anyway does that motherboard work with Boot-32? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148092-new-setup-for-boot-32/#findComment-1049448 Share on other sites

Zaap
Why not try READING the forum? And it's Boot-132 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148092-new-setup-for-boot-32/#findComment-1050856 Share on other sites
TallTania
Why not try READING the forum? And it's Boot-132 Before bothering others I have already read a few posts and done my googling. I am just asking questions politely. Is it a lot better to choose nViadia video cards, or can I go with the others? Is the ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard a Boot-132 compatible main board? I can't find it in the compatibility list. It takes as much time to answer my simple questions as it takes to complain about my noobiness Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148092-new-setup-for-boot-32/#findComment-1051202 Share on other sites
Zaap
Wrong, it takes a lot of time to answer someone's question (usually for the 10,000th time) when it's something they could easily find out for themselves. This forum is filled with hardware lists and people reporting that they work just fine, even guides on how to do it. It's nothing to do with noobiness per se, just it sometimes looks like people can't be bothered to read. If you want to use Boot-132 and a retail install, choose a board that's known to work with that method and that has a guide. Do a search for the board you're interested in and see if someone else has set it up. If it's not in the HCL, or can't be found from a google search of this forum or others, it can be assumed it won't work. It might, it might not, in which case you can buy it and try it for yourself- excellent if you're a trailblazer type that can afford to be wrong, terrible if you're a person that just wants a working system, not an experiment.
