I'm a Toshiba laptop user struggling to get OSx86 onto my machine. I've tried many distros of Leopard such as iAtkosv4a, Kalyway 10.5.2, and Leo4allv3 with no avail. Stuck with the "IOAPIC: 0x21 Vectors: 23" error.

Toshiba has nothing but stripped down bios included with most of their laptops, so their is no option for setting AHCI on the SATA drive.

I'm hoping everyone can contribute to this thread and post their model, specs, and what they used to get OSx86 installed onto their laptops, so we can all enjoy Leopard.

Anybody with great advice is welcome to help. I'll also gladly donate $10 via paypal to whoever helps me get leopard running on my laptop.

My specs are as followed:

Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895

Amd Turion X2 mobile 2.0 ghz

ATI X1250 graphics card

ATI RS690 Chipset / SB600 southbridge

3gb DDR2 Ram

250gb HDD

Pioneer DVD-RW ATA

I've got a Toshiba P105-S6064 laptop, that is almost completely working. Sleep, both cores, audio, graphics, etc.. it's all working. The only few things I have to gripe about are:

S-Video out does not work, however VGA-out does,

and Intel 3945 wireless does not work, however a driver is currently being worked on by mercurysquad; well, at least after he finishes the 2200.

Other than that, I have no complaints. It works great, and I use it as my daily OS.

I installed with iAtkos 5i, and after the install I used the DSDT patcher found here on the forums to dump my dsdt from the bios, and then edited it by hand to get sound and both cores to work. I used the gfx strings utility in OSX86 Tools to add the EFI string to my boot loader for the intel gma950 adapter. Other than that, everything is pretty much stock.

Specs:

Intel coreDuo 1.8Ghz

2 GB ram

160 GB hard drive

intel gma950 graphics

using Hawking HWUG1A USB adapter for wireless until 3945 driver is complete

If you have any questions about what I did or how I did it, just let me know.

@ricki: I don't think my bios has an option to turn off one core. It is a very basic bios with very little options.

@Car6on14: Save your money, to install Mac OS X onto your laptop, you need a patched install disk. Retail disks will not work. I'm not allowed to post a link to where you can download load it, but I can give you a hint.

Search: Leo4allv3, Kalyway 10.5.2, iAtkos on google and download any of those off a torrent site then burn the iso to a DVD with a program such as IMGBurn.

geiman, i just got iatkos 5i to install on my a105, can you post what boot loader, kernel, and other options you used? I am planning on replacing my intel wifi card with an atheros i have then trying to install. Any tips / suggests accepted and appreciated. thanks!

update*

well didnt realize my sys has mini pci E, my atheros is just mini pci...had been going off the info on here:

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Tosh...therboard-1.htm

which is still a decent how to of how to get into your laptop

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4094 - Core Duo Intel 945

iAtkos 5i installed, was getting MBR error at first bc i had xp installed and it put osx on partition 5, boot loader couldnt find it or let me set that as active partition... Anyways Installed Voodoo kernel, stock mod acpi, ps2 to get kb and track pad working, intel 950 b, intel pro 100 drivers, and laptop bat driver. unchecked disable... both cores, vid, sound, battery mon, cooling fan, internet, usb, and updates working. I dont hibernate so not sure. and wifi not detected / working... not my main os, just installed as experiment...

just finished with install of i Deneb v1.3 10.5.5 on my Toshiba Satellite (A205-S5859)

Everything works, except wi-fi.

Don't give up if display looks "white with a vertical black line" after reboot. Just restart again, it

will go away... ;)

This distribution is the best....I have tried all others numerous times on this laptop.

On mine everything (wifi included) with xxx 10.5.6 look signature, choose apple extended port chipset on customization.

May be hardware is different i don't know normally wi fi is rtl8187b on toshiba sat pro 300.
