Hello,

I've been looking for a way to get Leopard on this thing since I got it back in August.

I've tried:

  • iDeneb 1.1 and 1.3
  • iAtkos v4.1
  • XxX Rev1
  • iPC Public beta
  • Kalyway 10.5.2

The specs of the laptop are:

  • Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8400: 2.26 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3MB On-Die L2 Cache
  • Mobile Intel® PM45 Chipset
  • 4 GB DDR2 800
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600M GS, 1Gb VRAM

Latest Bios:

I'm not ready to give up yet, so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Pietro

  • 2 weeks later...

have u tried changing in your BIOS>IDE Configuration from Enhanced to Compatibile before trying the install it?

i have the same asus laptop as you and I had to do that for Ubuntu (Intrepid). Let me know if Kalyway's version works after switcing from Enhanced, i wana switch back to osx :).

on my way to downloading both kalyway and ideneb. they are pretty slow, but will post back on my results.. possibly in a month haha, dont feel like switching os again...

installing drivers on ubuntu wasnt too bad though it required some searching of guides. I expect to do the same for osx.

Hi,

Sorry for taking so long to reply. After a week with no reply, I stopped checking.

Yes I've tried using both Enhanced and Compatibility. I did at one point get it to boot but only into safe mode. I believe it was either Kalyway 10.5.2 or iDeneb. I think the problem is in our bios because of a bunch of other threads I was reading.

There was someone in here modding the bioses and a few people posted ours but I don't think they ever got around to modding it.

If you guys figure out please post in here, I think I'll start looking into this again.

I have the Asus G50VT-X6 and run a modified bios from here, I still haven't got a fully functional OSX book yet but expecting to by the end of the day, the bios change is a MUST however I know from previous Hackintosh's I've made with ASUS motherboards.

The issues I'm having with Deneb is I can install it and then boot into safemode in 10.5.5 but when I boot into normal mode it boots half way then stalls out with no kernel panics <shrugs> but if I update to 10.5.6 then I can boot into normal mode but my trackpad and keyboard don't work

They're fairly simular laptops though so I'll let you guys know what I find when I get done.

My laptop is same as Purple Puppy's. it is M50VM-B1. i am trying to install iDeneb for the past 10 days. [believe me i have tried it 5 to 10 times a day :thumbsdown_anim: ], but the problem is system profiler showing processor as 0 and number of cores as 1 , and besides that ACPI problem not letting me boot for the first time although installation went smoothly. i have the installation logs if any one interested to have a look at them. used -x -v -F and cpus=1 but no use. used debug=0x00000102 io=0x00200004 flag to know what kext is causing the problem. it always hangs at APPLEACPICPU<P002> :: START<1>  | IOHIDSYSTEM::START<IORESOURCES> ....... something like that. going to install in the evening and will report back exact details..

thanks

I have a ASUS M50VM laptop. I was able to get OS X install and booting into it fine. My guess as this point would be that I do not have the right kexts or so but as of now my keyboard will not work. I have to use an USB one. The method I did was using boot 123 + Retail disc with one modified file so I coudl install it on MBR since I am dual booting OS X and Vista.

Any help on how to get my keyboard working and any other kexts I need would be greatly appreciated.
