pontifex22
To run Snow Leopard on AMD you need at least a AMD capable kernel wich is not done yet. Even if it would, there are a lot of other things to get fixed. Snow Leopard is still beta. Wait on the release and then another month, maybe it will be there for OSX86. Go for Leopard. Read some good guides in this forum. Read the sickys. Learn to know what you are doing. There is no other way.
Anfeldt24
So what your saying is that Leopard will work for AMD and there is no need for a kernel to be downloaded because when i buy if off the store shelf it will be just like an install and work from there? Or do i still need a kernel for it with the Leopard installed? If so how do I obtain a kernel for AMD on the Leopard OS?
pontifex22
There is no official OS X Leopard you could buy for AMD, not even a official one for Intel PCs. But here are ways to buy and use a retail OS X for PCs, even for AMD. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry996583 But be aware that it is not as easy as installing Windows. Everything you need to know is written in guides like these around the forum. Mind what I wrote above. Good luck

mac_cute
You need to read first:at this moment is not easy to do that.Your best shot will be install 10.5.X from a retail DVD/OSx86 distro. Also, you must know that OS X sub-forum is not a place for OSx86 questions -Moved
alex190291
with all the posts that have the guide for installing it on an AMD what the hell is vanilla for a OS? Vanilla is not a OS its the unmodified OSX Kernel which only will work on Intel Core Systems (except you use the AMD Patch). I recomend that you download any osx86 distro and install it with Qoopz or Voodoo Kernel cause they are better for AMD Processors then Vanilla Kernel+AMD patch. sorry for my bad english but im from germany^^
