failurbydesign Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 i havnt had an issue for a long time with this, recently before the 10.5.6 update i made a backup of my rig! The 10.5.6 update killed my install, no big deal 9So i though) when i reinstalled osx i had ZERO issues, but i still get the chain boot error!@#$ The damn thing will boot fine with the dvd in and load osx, but even with easybcd setup i get the error....any ideas?? failurbydesign Posted January 1, 2009 Author Share Posted January 1, 2009 ok after multiple installs with various disks and restore images i gett he same error...i think it something setup in windows i use easybcd so maybe t here is an issue...any ideas?? quis Posted January 1, 2009 Share Posted January 1, 2009 1. Get tboot and rename it to nst_mac.mbr 2. Replace it with the original one generated by EasyBCD under C:\NST 3. Restart and cross your fingers. quis Posted January 2, 2009 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Tboot is another common way to dual-boot Windows and Mac OS X. (Something like Chain0) And I know this because I'm using EasyBCD as well and the problem is on its built-in bootloader file. That doesn't work well so just replace it with tboot should work.
