Hey all!

Has anyone tried to install Leopard on Asus S101?

How successful were you?

I know that it should be similar to Eee 1000 and i have tried using guides for them (http://www.enik.ch/2008/10/osx-leopard-1055-on-the-eee-1000h/)

but unfortunately without much success... (can't change resolution, sleep doesnt work, speedstep doesnt work, etc...)

Please let me know if you were successful.

Thanks!

As an experienced hackintosher, I spent most of last night getting this device to work, the things which clearly will not work at present no matter what are the wireless (AzureWave Atheros ARxxxx [cant remember]) and the Ethernet (Also Atheros Strangely).

However, graphics with quartz etc working, battery life is good. Sound is working and detects HD Audio out the box. USB works, SD works (runs on a usb bus). Sleep didn't do anything, maybe i need to work more on that, but i believe its possible, no insomnia etc needed to keep it alive (as sleep literally does nothing).

No problems with inbuilt keyboard/mouse etc. the solid state drive inside these machines runs Mac OS X pretty fast, I even had it running off the SD HC card, but this was not so fast =).

Make sure when booting the installation you boot with "-x -v cpus=1" as otherwise it will just do a reset loop constantly.

let me know how you get on!

D4ftpunk,

which distro did you use to install? After upgrading IntelGMA950 kext's my screen changed the resolution but started to make high-pitched whistling noise - very annoying...

Do you experience the same problems?

p.s. i bought a $30 mac wireless card from ebay and the wifi works out of the box =)

Thanks.

p.s. mine seems to boot fine even without -x -v cpus=1....

D4ftpunk,

I have got it all sorted out =)

Thank you very much for the video driver....

Out of curiosity, how did you get it to work and have the right resolution listed without SwitchResX ?

Still not working (mic, ethernet, FN's for Sound)...

I'm going to dig into dsdt patching to make FN's work...

Thanks again!

Hey, did you follow my guide? http://michaelarmstrong.eu/how-to/asus-eee...ook-nano-osx86/ its pretty fail safe... i use iATKOS personally, but im sure iDeneb would also work... the error your'e getting is a kernel panic etc... and the computer should boot simply with cpus=1 -v

P.S. did anyone try http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html yet?

Has anyone had any luck installing Mac OS 10.6.3 on the Asus Eee PC s101? I have a retail version of SL 10.6.3 and have attempted version 1 and 3 of the guides located http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/. I have not had much luck. I can get the netbook CD to load and then I can switch to either a prepared USB or the actual retail Mac OS install DVD but after seeing the gray mac icon I will immediately get a kernel panic along with the Apple multilingual error telling me to restart my computer. Below I have pasted what I can read out of the kernel panic:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2a96f6): "Version mis-match between Kernel and

CPU PM"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1504.3.12/osfmk/i386/pmCPU.c:720

Debugger called: <panic>

....more of the similar....

Kernel Extensions is backtrac... (can't see for the Apple

multilingual area message box telling me to restart my computer)
