sotirispandis
I have a Hp Pavilion DV6000 notebook with Kalyway 10.5.2. Is it a safe way (and how?) to directly update my system to 10.5.6? ameris_cyning
What kernel are you using? If you are unsure, open terminal and type "uname -a" (with out the quotes) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142391-is-it-possible-to-safe-update-from-kalyway-1052-to-1056/#findComment-1010224 Share on other sites
redneck
I've tried 3 times to do a direct update. The major problem is, the update will load intelcpupowermanagement.ktext and a couple others that will stop the update half way through at 10.5.5. If i do the combo updates 1 at a time to 5.4 everything goes well until 5.5 then the cpupower problem pops up ( you have 10 seconds to move it to trash at the start of install) and with 5.6 also, which is what i have now 10.5.6. I still don't know what the benefits of up grading is, I've ask here but no one answered. I just upgraded for the challenge. i'm not very mac smart. Geo877
sotirispandis, I'm in exactly the same situation and asking the same question, did the method in the topic work for your kernel? Apparently it's only for vanila kernel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/142391-is-it-possible-to-safe-update-from-kalyway-1052-to-1056/#findComment-1011525 Share on other sites
