shavex
You have just purchased 4GB for your iMac and want to use the old memory left over for your macbook?! Rule of Thumb is... Desktop components (hard drives, processors, memory, etc) never work in Laptops and vise versa.
nesskwik
ive done some diggin around and think your wrong this time actually pretty sure they same except macbook uses slower memory
True Bassist
May be the same speeds etc. but desktop memory does not fit into notebook's. Completely different structure and design.
Wrenbird
iMacs use notebook memory. Indeed you can use it in your macbook. Don't worry about the Memory running faster than that of the macbook either; if the logic board can't handle that memory's speed, then it should underclock it automatically. Mickos
WrenBird is actually right as far as I know, I both replaced memory on my iMac and Macbook and they are equal with exception of clockspeed which should be no problem since it's possible to run the memory at a slower speed as long as it has the same pinstructure and no difference in voltage (i.e. between DDRI and DDRII) which should not be the case with your models.
