Ritz Carltn
It's time to discuss about 10.5.6 in ASUS P5W DH DELUXE Mobo. Hi, all, I did not use DSDT Patcher. I need DSDT patch for what? Software Update from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 success, 1. Applying Software Update, 2. Recover File Permission in Disk Utility 3. Reboot 4. 1st, failed, error message "Kill All Processor, HALTED" 5. 2nd try to boot, sucess. Problem, USB Mouse is not working. Others working well. I have to use Logitech Wireless Mouse or DELL MO56UO Mouse and PS/2 Keyboard. BOOT-132 using USB Memory stick, ASUS P5W DH DELUXE Mobo + NVKush I found out Boot-132 initrd.img as followings. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=743debc...2db6fb9a8902bda [updated, May-16] I used DSDT.aml and update to 10.5.7 with Boot-132. Tek
Try to use the same kext used to fix the problem with DFU mode when jailbreaking the iPhone on 10.5.6. I think it is just the kext from 10.5.5. I have a P5W DH Deluxe also running 10.5.5. Try the one attached. It is from the iPhone-Dev Blog. Backup first! Ritz Carltn
I try to use your attached file in /extra folder, BOOT-132 USB Memory Stick. But, it's not working. I thought I have to install /System/Library/Extensions folder. After checking, I'll post the result again. joedredd
Would anyone care to list all the kexts or modifications they've applied? I'm trying to work on the most virgin install possible and having trouble. My working config has been running since 10.4.10 and been upgraded and patched so many times. Although it's running virgin kernel and 10.5.6 I'd rather start from square one again. So - would anyone care to list the MINIMUM requirements to get our boards working? Obviously latest EFI/boot process etc. That's easy enough. Strings for graphics and network. AppleHDA custom required for audio (as methodman has mentioned) Remove AppleIntelCPU - some people say yes..some say don't need to.

Bob Ajob
After installing a totally vanilla retail 10.5.4 on my Asus P5W DH DELUXE (using a backup installation running from an external USB drive and running OSInstall.mpkg from terminal) then applying the 10.5.6 combo update, my only changes were to install PC_EFI_v9 bootloader, patch DSDT, install AppleSMbios.kext, dsmos.kext, disabler.kext and fix sound with Taruga's AppleHDAPatcher 1.20 and add EFI strings for Graphics and Ethernet with EFIstudio. I deleted AppleHPET.kext and AppleHWSensor.kext as that seemed to resolve some intermittent USB issues but not sure if that was necessary. Wake from sleep seems to be the only thing not working (but it never has - I suspect graphics card is root cause).

Haven't tested speed yet but losing the two ports bugs me enough... I will try your method tomorrow but about the EFI strings; what string are you using for Ethernet? Flashlab
A little update; when I install iPC 10.5.6 without any drivers my P5W has working USB. After some patching it still works but after updating Safari, Quicktime and iTunes through Software Update on reboot the USB problem is back... 314TeR
Hi all P5W DH Deluxe is one of the best motherboard for hackintosh. To make working USB 2.0, you need change the IOPCIFamili, kext in in /S/L/E from stock version 2.5.0 from original update 10.5.6, to this version (2.5.4): http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=40552 from this topic: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=117029 That is only one kext that I need to replace in /S/L/E to make Retail 10.5.6 work on P5W DH Deluxe. To make almost 100% Vanilla on 10.5.6 you need install 10.5.4 + combo 10.5.6 or 10.5.6 Retail by osinstall.mpkg method to target drive, install PC_EFI 9.0, and put this kext to /Extra/Extensions1/ http://rapidshare.com/files/186139439/Essential.zip http://rapidshare.com/files/186140042/Intel_ICHx_JMicron.zip for audio (ALC882) kext from this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...129058&st=0 and finally make /Extra/Extensions.mkext cd /Volumes/HDD_Name sudo mv Extra/Extensions1 Extra/Extensions/ sudo chown -R 0:0 Extra sudo chmod -R 755 Extra sudo kextcache -a i386 -m Extra/Extensions.mkext Extra/Extensions sudo mv Extra/Extensions Extra/Extensions1
waldrondigital
I'd like to add to this that deleting /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHPET.kext fixes the USB bandwidth issue (get you back to 2.0 speeds).
splintah
i would strongly recommend doing a 100% vanilla install via boot132/munky it works REALLY well on this board p5w discussion thread after install: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=156057 guide for this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1084836

Snooker216
I ask this question in here because all readers should own a P5W deluxe. Anyone managed to install on RAID0 or RAID5? What settings in the BIOS were made, on what connectors are the disks connected? I want to install from scratch, so there is NO OS X available to do any tricks. AND... I want to use Windows on a RAID0 or RAID5 too. so the solution should fit in both ways. I could use up to 4 250GB HDDs for this. THX in forward for your suggestions.
