Embio
I'm not really up to scratch with the Windows restore process - I wonder if a Vista DVD would let you restore any given .VHD..... shavex
I just have one question about these builds. Are they fully functional as in all my hardware drivers and such should work on it if i upgraded to the new build?! As well as my games?! MadDoggyca
these are not .VHD images I only work with real ISO and not vmware stuff considering windows seven is built on Vista kernel all vista drivers will work on windows 7 well 97% anywazs.. there a few drvier I notice do not work including STPD.sys (deamon tools uses this one) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139905-windows-7-pre-beta-build-6956/#findComment-991088 Share on other sites
Embio
hmmm - only files I can find are .VHDs. As I'm sure you know, Vista and Server 2008 use that same format for their backup and restore points. Think of them as DMGs but for Windows.... booger_sniffer5000
My screenshot, clean and unmodified hmmm - only files I can find are .VHDs. As I'm sure you know, Vista and Server 2008 use that same format for their backup and restore points. Think of them as DMGs but for Windows.... Somebody took the old setup files from build 6801 and merged it with the leak. Basically, its all Windows 7 build 6956 except for the setup. chico_stang
I tried Windows 7, and I've got to say it is actually very fast and stable. I can say it is faster than Vista. Very nice indeed. ifrit05
Yup, tried it. IT IS INSANELY BETTER THAN VISTA. The new task bar reminds me of OS X though. All my vista drivers work! and just for giggles, i installed it on a 450 MHz intel PII and its... fast?! interesting. Kudos to M$! Bluprint101
so the only question left is how do you install mac drive and some other drivers on it because mine doesn't seem to pic up allot of softwares except your usual suspects so is there an alternative to seeing your Mac partition on Windows 7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139905-windows-7-pre-beta-build-6956/#findComment-1008161 Share on other sites

ka24altima
Just installed today, definitely a big improvement over Vista. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139905-windows-7-pre-beta-build-6956/#findComment-1009092 Share on other sites
vbetts
I think I actually might look into this. Because I also heard that Vista drivers work with it. And, if people are seeing improvement from Vista, when this is just a pre beta, I really really want this. lynxdog
I guess the best thing for us New Zealanders is that it supports H264 OTB..... FANTASTIC.... that means we can now watch DVB-T in HD with Media Center...... about bloody time I say. My Wife uses 2 of our MC's every day and she's getting sick and tired of me changing it over to new programs all the time.... she's now happy with what it can do..... :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139905-windows-7-pre-beta-build-6956/#findComment-1009556 Share on other sites
