Your tests are unfair! You used a RAM Drive, OF COURSE your HD transfers will be OFF THE WALL! also, how did you get your QE tests so high? I see that you have a ATI9600, and I have a 6600GT, but I get less than half your score...

55 (do not have EXACT number but it is something lit 54.7, or so)

I think that is just about it for the specs... later I will post brakdown results, but I am in Windows mode right now and dont feel like switching back at the moment...

 

It is interesting that my QE score is around 70 or so considering that it is 'unacclerated' and QE is 'not supported'...

Your HD, and maybe isn't running in DMA.

 

Thanks for your reply Macgirl. On the first test the HD wasn´t running in DMA, but on the second test I have made the nforce3 tweak and the results suffered an improvement, anyway this is a too old HD :)

Specs in signature. Installed Maxxuss 0.5c patch the 0.1a NVidia.kext.

Xbench Both through VMWare (Maxxuss Ethernet, so I can surf + @85Hz instead of ~)

and Native (much, much faster, but no onboard Ethernet working yet

and @60Hz because of the infamous VESA 3.0 Geforce 6600 PCIe, so undoable).

Complete results included as attachments.

 

What do you guys think?

I find the Disk test rather low in both VMWare & Native...

Any suggestions on this or the other stuff?

I was wondering: the AppleIntelPIIATA.kext works only on Intel boards...since VMWare emulates Intel chipset, could I benefit from it? And could the AppleOnboardPCATA.kext be beneficial to my native install?

CPU: Pentium 4 1.5 GHz @ 1.75GHz (no SSE3)

Mainboard: Albatron 845PE

Memory: 512Mb PC2700 (2x256Mb modules)

Harddisk: an old 12.7Gb ATA

Graphics: VESA 3.0 compatible, Asus 7100 32Mb (nVidea MX400)

Network: buildin 3com does not work but it is shown in the list, card in PCI3 works (unknown type)

Sound: AC97 (onboard) works, Soundblaster Live! 5.1 does not work

 

Extra:

extra ATA controllor not found

Real Magic Hollywood + MPEG2 decodercard not found

DVD+RW (Nec) not recognised as burner

 

I used the SSE3 -> SSE2 patch.

 

I can't set the screen's resolution to anything higher then 1024x768, because the screen I get when I set it at 1280x1024 will be in grayscale. Even if I specify the colordepth (x32 or x24) it's still in grayscale. Also specifying a refreshrate (@75) won't help.
