guyin916
my understanding is that xbench IS a unibin yes, but doesn't benchmark rosetta.. since most apps aren't unibin.. they'll run on rosetta.. therefore requiring more processing emulation power to get the job done.. -p

ZX81
me got 60.26, no additional modifications apart from JaS 4.2b Hi, I have edited my post, above, the first run with Xbench was wrong, i am unable to duplicate that run. My score now is bit better than 10.4.1 with the 10.4.3 upgrade I was running. Sorry for any confusion! It is weird, I'll have to look into it, luckily I saved a copy of the high run too. MeeG
Why is the processor score so low with xbench, vecLib seems especially low...I guess apple was right Intel cant compete with AltiVec. The real question is should these xbench results be trusted as accurate? What about some real world benchmarks...I guess it may be too early and not enough unibins for that but does anyone think xbench is cheating us? guyin916
xbench is pretty much "synthetic".. and does not benchmark in rosetta mode.. as i stated before.

kristie_jeff
Here's mine. A little disappointing to say the least. I notice even as I type this the letters are a fraction of a second behind my hands. I don't really type that fast either, about 45WPM. I suspect that the low score is partly because of the old HDD that I am using, but even without the disk test, the numbers don't improve that much.
