I had the secupd 2 already installed. I was intending to do the patch solution procedure after the patch successfully completed but it locked up midway. Now I'm stuck with kernel panic. Guess I'm going to retrieve some files from the hard drive and restart over.

I already had that lock up problem while optimizing the disk twice: during 10.4.5 update "on the fly" and while installing the Security Updates...

I got past this by booting from the install DVD in single-user mode and mounting the 10.4.5 disk from there: then do a fsck -fy and mount -uw /

After that I could continue with the Mxxs patch process...

Take care,

Arrghh. Didn't think of that. I've re-installed everything. Will try updating again though. Thanks for the tip.

yes maybe it can work but u need to reapply the 10.4.5 maxxuss patch which includes mach_kernel and IPfirewall.kext etc or maybe there r new files required ...

im sure apple tried it on oSX86 lol and it doesnt run

btw ive tried the new ATIRADEON9700.Kext and works flawlessly only the BundleGA driver.kext gives me the famous black screen + mouse cursor too bad seems there is now a new protection into the drivers!

How does the new Radeon kext work perfectly? Is mouse tearing gone? Is QE and CI enabled?

no i meant it works just as in 10.4.5, still tearing

once for all to get rid of tearing we need ATINDRV for "PC RADEON"

QE/CI are still here of course

i bet i won about 2 FPS for WoW that's it
