Please advice! I can only see a grey screen.

I`ve installed the iKATOS_5i, everything went ok during install but after reboot for a split of a second I can see some kind of blue scren and after that only grey . I hear the intro music I think, and I have keyboard and mouse control (i can adjust volume). After music stop some kind of program for blind persons starts. If someone know what it might be the cause please reply! I feel I am so close to succed. I`ve tried all the combination of display adapter drivers and EFI string and result is the same.

My laptop is Toshiba Equium P300-19O

-Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5750 2 Ghz

-3 Gb DDR2 667Mhz

- 250 Gb Hdd

- display 17" Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA+ TFT High Brightness display resolution : 1440 x 900

- graphic adapter Intel® GMA X3100

Thanks

What you selected in customize?

You can post?

Sorry, i see now!

" I`ve tried all the combination of display adapter drivers and EFI string and result is the same."

But, post it! (not all combinations) =)

Has anyone realised that no matter what you click from the options, it always installs the chameleon boot Loader?? Not the efi v9....!?

Uphuck, am I getting something wrong or?

Checksum seems to be ok.

Oh yeah ! I got it finally working after plenty of reinstalls. So now it's working and I'll proceed to solve the audio problem that I have. But God thanks it works now.

So I used natit universal driver + graphic updates and wooosh I booted nice and quick.

Meh happie !!

The hardware that I'm using is following:

Gigabyte ga-p35-d3sl

Intel core 2 duo E8300

4gb 800mhz kingston

Radeon HD 3850 gddr3 512mb (I think the problem maker is my graphics card)

500gb sata2 samsung.

Thank u for this awesome release !

Patrick

Jumping in here to say that this release has been aces for me. As a complete hackintosh neophyte (but very computer literate), I was able to install this release on a newly built Q6600 and newish Gigabyte ep45-ud3p and 4 gigs of RAM.

The install took a few tries to get right, but I used EFIv9, the Vanilla Kernel and I believe the JMicronATA driver. Once I booted up I googled a quick driver for to fix the sound and downloaded OSX86Tools to add the EFI string to get my 7300GT working. I also have an ATI 4850 installed in the other PCI-E slot that (but not working due to no driver support) I use when I boot to Vista. I've had random kernel panics over two days that seems to be traced to a buggy JMicronATA driver with >3GB RAM.

Since I updated that the installation has been rock solid. Can't be happier!

I've had many different successful vanilla installs with various versions on my laptop (specs in my signature).

I can't find the correct configuration to get a successfull install. I don't have an intensive BIOS with this machine or ability to change the SATA to Native mode as suggested. When I start up after install I either get a constant spinning wheel with apple logo, or the power off/restart sign above it with frozen wheel.

If anyone with similar lappy hardware has had a successful install please let me know which options you've chosen.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is selecting a graphics driver as mine isn't one of the EFI ones, and I'd need to use an injector which I have from previous attempts.

Thank you for any help anyone can give.

Just burned the image iATKOS_5i.iso : it's labeled iATKOS_v4.1i and it doesn't boot. ;)

The md5 is 7219C67E9D770CAB0D9E54DCD275CF4E coresponding to the one on the site MD5 iATKOS_5i.iso = 7219c67e9d770cab0d9e54dcd275cf4e

So ...is there really a iATKOS 5i ?

I've had great luck with this DVD using both a Core2 Quad Q6600 Abit AW9D-MAX (Intel 975 Express Chipset and ALC882 add 2 Codec) With 4 GB ram 4-4-4-12 timings. With this setup I was able to get sound working using the boot-132 method and everything else worked like a charm with the drivers included on the DVD. I was even able to remove disabler.kext and use the DSDT patcher to run those disabled kexts, getting a working (emulated?) using the darwin setting HPET. There were 2 drawbacks however, 1 I was unable to get the machine to sleep and wake up, and 2 I was unable to get Parallels 4 to see the VT technology that my board and chip support even though Parallels seemed to run fine. Suggestions on how to solve this?

I also am currently running this DVD on a Gigabyte P35-DS3L using the same memory and CPU. With this board, sound was a bit tricky but I was finally able to get it to work using a kext for the IP35Pro, with this kext the system profiler and the audio prefpane show line in / out, mic in and opt in / out. I am able to get sleep to work on this board and with this board, Parallels 4 does see the VT capabilities. The odd thing is that with this board, I am unable to remove disabler kext when using a patched DSDT (kernel panic after being "unable to get an HPET" even though the board has native HPET bios capabilities. Weird.. Any suggestions on that? If anyone needs some hints for these boards, I have saved all the kexts I used and can try to be of help and any insights on those drawbacks would be awesome! Thanks.

Chris
