I can not get iTunes to open at all, the icon bounces in the dock and the running indicator is shown, it tries to load but the window doesn't show up and it doesn't appear in the menu bar, then it just quits and then the old "The application iTunes quit unexpectedly" message. It does this EVERY time i try to open iTunes. Does anyone know how to fix this. I really really dont want to have to reinstall Leopard if it's at all avoidable.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, i have attached the console log and crash report. Yes safari does still work, i am using version 3.1.1, which is the newest version according to Software Update.

 

EDIT: I have tried iTunes 7, and it still works, but as soon as i install itunes 8, the problem returns. This is weird as itunes 8 used to work on this machine, and i dont want to be forced to use itunes 7.
