Wardialer
i had kalyway 10.5.1 going up to 10.5.3 but gave up after i killed my system w/ apples updater. anyways, i grabbed jas 10.5.4 and ideneb 10.5.5. both boot and install (ideneb even boots DVD in AHCI mode) but afterwards my bios just skips right to network boot. i once got as far as defining my keyboard and choosing "do not transfer information" where it froze after selecting. is there something im not aware of w/ these new releases, some kind of post-install patch i have to apply? please point me in the right direction. thanks intel DG33TL, xeon E3110, 2GB Mushkin 800MHz, ATI Radeon HD2600. 320GB WD caviar SATA (tried both AHCI and IDE modes). liquid8
It sounds like the partition wasn't marked active - I had the same problem with iDeneb: Boot with your disc again. Go into Utilities, Terminal.. Type 'diskutil list' Find the disk/partition that contains your install (i.e. disk1s2) Type 'fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX' - where X is the disk # above (i.e. 1) Type 'print' - This will show the partitions Type 'flag X' where X is the partition # that contains your OS Type 'quit' - say yes about restarting/writing Restart, remove your disc, and you should be good to go. Newman Cook
I had the same problem when installing iDeneb 10.5.5: Mac OSX started up and always stopped at the screen with "Do not transfer my information..." Finally I found the fastest way to fix it: *Make sure the Mac OSX installation DVD is in the drive when powering on the computer *Don't press any key to boot from DVD, wait until it shows the countdown for Leopard from your hard drive, then press Enter key ONCE *Type -s to start in simple text mode, then type these commands: /sbin/mount -uw / passwd root (then type any password you want) touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone reboot *After rebooting, you still need to boot with the DVD in the drive, but use a different switch this time to go to safe mode: -x *You need to create an administrator account after that. *When you are inside Leopard, go to Utilities and run Terminal, type these commands to make your partition ACTIVE: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 fdisk: 1> update fdisk:*1> f 1 fdisk:*1> w fdisk: 1> q *Reboot and you don't need the installation DVD any more Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135757-no-darwinboot-record-after-10541055-leopard/#findComment-963030 Share on other sites

For your ATI radeon HD 2600XT, try this driver: www.onetimesales.com/drivers/macosx/video/ATI_X2000_Kexts.zip It is for ATI radeon HD 2600XT DDR3 if yours is the same one. Cashmire
It seems i have the same issue here. Successfully installed ideneb osx 10.5.5. I rebooted right into osx after the installation. Then i booted again and there was no bootloader. I tried to activate it with your steps described here (fdisk), but i cant get to work... IDE(linux) is master here, sata(with osx and winxp on it) is slave. is here the problem? should sata with osx be master?
