Some call this the Vulcan nerve pinch but usually it is more appropriately described as the 'Three finger salute' The key sequence in Mac OS is Option-Command-Esc which summons the Force Quit Menu. I wonder if there is a similar story behind that. I doubt Apple II had any soft reset key sequence.
