sheeplover
I use to work on calibrated screens - for this I use an i1 Pro from Gretamacbeth and ColorEyes Display Pro. Since I installed my new 9800GTX+ as well as the new NVidia kext from the new MacBooks I get a kernel panic each time I open up the ColorEyes Software or the LUTloader.app. Something similar happens when trying to use ColorVision or i1 Match - they terminate without giving me any reason. Is there anybody else out there who has a 9800GTX or GTX+ and can test this? === UPDATE === Changed the card back to my 7300GT and calibration works normal. No kernel panics, no program freeze .. everything just fine. Also with a 9800GTX from a different brand it crashes. Does this happen because of the new NVidia kexts or perhaps because of the cards different LUA-table?? omann
I just installed a ECS Elitegroup 9800GFX in my badaxe2. Changed EFI strings as followed: 6e0200000100000001000000620200000d00000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000010101 60000007fff04000e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730069 07a006500000008000000000000201c0000006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650 00000f0000004e5644412c506172656e740e0000006e0061006d00650000000b000000646973706c 17922000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b0000006 6973706c617922000000400031002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000 b000000646973706c6179100000006d006f00640065006c0000001b0000006e56696469612047654 6f72636520393830302047545820000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c 0650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616314000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120 00004e5644412c446973706c61792d4114000000400031002c006e0061006d006500000012000000 e5644412c446973706c61792d4220000000400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006 00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004 00000000003000c00000000000007000000001e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730 69006f006e0000002f0000006e5669646961204765466f726365203938303020475458204f70656e 74c20456e67696e65205b4546495d and added the v2 drivers (kexts) Everything works fine, even calibration... Did you repair permissions after install? Denicio
Calibration wasn't working for me either, but then i switched from my VGA port to the DVi port and it suddenly worked. sheeplover
The calibration with the Spyder Software now works for me - but the results with it are far from good. ColorEyes Display Pro still crashes immediately with a kernel panic... - edit - forgot to mention: I did repair rights on the kexts and my card has no VGA-port to switch to. I can leave EFI-string as is and just put my 7300gt in the slot and calibration works. I think this might be something hardware-related with the 9800gtx+ cards oO Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/134187-no-screen-calibration-with-9800gtx/#findComment-957853 Share on other sites
