Hi, guys.

I have a question.

I have a wireless Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0.

This mouse has 4 buttons, plus wheel. I have set the functions of the buttons in a way that the 2 small buttons work as "back" and "forward" in my browsers. In fact they work perfectly well in all my browsers but in Safari.

In Safari, the "back" button forwards the page I'm viewing to a mail recipient, while the "forward" button switches between the open tabs.

Does anybody know how to personalize the mouse functions in Safari?

Thank you very much for your help, everybody!

Ok, as many other times, I solved the problem by myself.

I realized that one was a bug of Safari, so I customized the mouse actions specifically for this application and instead of assigning to the actions "back" and "forward" to the small buttons, I assigned them the combination of keys "command + left arrow" and "command + right arrow" (which are the equivalent of "back" and "forward", in Safari). Now it works perfectly well. If anyone needs it, this is the solution! ;)

How do you customized the mouse buttons? There is nothing on Keyboard & Mouse under System Preferences where you can assigned mouse actions.

Pls provide detail procedures as I am very interested to customized my mouse too..

Thanks.

You can do that only if you have Microsoft mouse. You need to install the latest unibin MS IntelliPoint (or IntelliType for keybord), so they add new pref panes to SysPreferences.

The second thing IntelliPoint do is installing their one mouse driver WITHOUT mouse acceleration. (I wanted to turn it off, browsed for os kext's, googled a lot, but finally get it this simplest (but nontrivial) way)

Great, thank you a lot for the tip :D

And to open a tab by clicking on a link with the wheel, choose the click for the wheel and check the box "command" : this will assign command+click to the wheel !
