friends I removed the DVD before rebooting .. and whenever I try this out of the dvd drive.

And as for this OriginalMACNUT modded BIOS (MS)-7366v13a, as is the procedure, can you help me?

OK...........the question had to be asked.

As getting an OriginalMACNUT modded BIOS (MS)-7366v13a, I suggest you PM breakingbad as I have already asked him to help you......and he said he would........ :)

hey guys i have many probles with my osx installation. i finished the normal system installation sucessfully (iPC 10.5.6 + 5 official patches).

my system works actually fine if i boot with "disk0s1 -v".

some things are not working and i dont know how this could be changed.

i cant change the resolution usw. of my 2 8800 GT SLI (i guess SLI isnt working at all)

i cant use ethernet as well. its the onboard lan card (Motherboard MS-7350 + nForce 650i SLI SPP) nforce Ethernet controller

i cant use onboard sound (i dont know much about this device)

if i look at the "Hardware List" it says "no integrated Audio"

the hardware list says that there arent any pci-cards installed on my system

i dont think that there is a solution to my problems. the combination of hardware is not compatible.

i am sorry for my poor english and i really hope somebody is going to give me some advices or just says that i can completly forget it...

thx in advance

thx for this fast answer. the mother moard is a P6N SLI Platinum.

i tried this eno nforcelan.kext before but had no sucess with it. but i guess thats because my chipset is not working well.

what do you think is the best way to do it?

1. Check out this Pre-Series 7 nForce thread and make my nforce 650i working

2.Try to finde the correct EFI strings for my two 8800 GT

3. The nForceLAN.kext

4. Audio

i am really trying my best but i will need some help.

Repost this post in the Pre-Series 7 nForce thread and I acn help you there......... ;)

I am thinking about what to do.........

Boot from a working OS X Install DVD and go to Terminal in Disk Utility.

In Terminal type what is in quotes (minus quotes) and press Enter after each line

"cd /Volumes/Enter your HDD Name here/System/Library/Extensions"

Im having some difficulty at the moment Verdant. im getting the reply 'no such file or directory'

ive tried a few different variations of HDD name:

(how it appears in Disk Utility) 'hitachiHDT72103SLA360'

(how it appear on my BIOS) 'P1-HitachiHDT72103SL'

(the name of the partiton on the HDD) 'Leopard'

Screenshot :

post-373953-1236105364_thumb.jpg

The 'leopard' partiton on the HDD is in 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)' format,

however i have just noticed that the HDD as a whole is in MS-DOS Format. Would this make a difference?

I have attached a screenshot to show you what i mean.

hi mate, sory i didn`t read your reply so I didn`t notice that you are helping me, I thank you a lot, since last year I am trying to install any distro in order to run mac but I am a newbie and i don`t know much about this :)

thanks again for the help :)

I already asked OriginalMACNUT to mod a BIOS that matches your mobo, but I believe you´ll need to wait just a little more because he returned me a message saying that he sold his computer and is about to buy a new one, so he can´t do anything without a computer. But don´t worry. As soon as he gets your BIOS modded he´ll tell me and I tell you. :P

I hope this modded BIOS solve your problem with OS X. For me worked like a charm and never got any problems related to BIOS issues.

Hi DiNozo.

Your mobo is pretty sure like mine, so I could say:

- Ethernet is Realtek RTL8211BL (works fine with nForceLAN.kext by en0)

- Audio is ALC888 6 ports - Compliant with Azalia Audio 1.0 Spec (if you need the driver, let me know)

If you need to get the latest BIOS from OriginalMACNUT (the BIOS that solved all my issues) go here:

http://www.osxcores.site50.net/page5/page6...m%207350v17.rar

Hope to help.

^^ while reading your hardware details i noticed that our systems are very similiar. i tryed the nforcelan.kext before but it doesnt work. do you think this bios update could help?

is a BIOS flash dangerous and is it easy to go back to the old BIOS?

thx for your help. its good to see that there are some guys with a working system and more or less my hardware combination.

Hi mate.

My system specs is very detailed so I can encourage people to try.

nForceLAN.kext for me worked like a charm. In my system I use an AppleUSBEthernet Adapter, but I can show you that my onboard LAN works perfectly too.

About the BIOS, this one I´m using now from OMN´s solved all my issues. I bothered verdant a lot with a freezing problem that could only be solved when he suggested me to use a different BIOS from OriginalMACNUT. Flashing a BIOS is not complicated but requires some care. A bad bios flash can cause you a lot of trouble. I already posted here in the forum how to flash the MSI BIOS with it´s own flash utility.

Unfortunately I can´t garantee you that your process will be succefull. But I can assure you that the process is pretty easy and fast. If you put your computer into a no-break to assure that you won´t have power loss, I believe you won´t have problems.

Here you can find the same BIOS I´m using right now. This one OriginalMACNUT modded for me and this one is the latest one provided from MSI for this mobo.

LINK: http://www.osxcores.site50.net/page5/page6...m%207350v17.rar

Check page 26 of this forum and post #502 where I tell people how to flash MSI BIOS with this modded one.

yea. but i dont have freezes and things like that. the only thing is that i cant use the onboard devices. do you think after i insalled the new bios it will be possible to use for example the onboard nforce ethernet controller? if there is a chance I will try it!

thx

edit: will i have problems with my vista insallation? i dont want to dualboot, but i change the harddrive sometimes for booting vista.

edit1: i downloaded the files for the BIOS flash. I have vista insalled on the same system but on another harddrive. so do i need this boot cd? Can i flash my BIOS from the vista os?

Since from the screenshot it appears that you want to install OS X on its own hard drive with 298GB to use, I recommend for general PC use (i.e. rather than as a server) that you partition the hard drive as Master Boot Record (MBR) via the Partition menu tab in OS X Disk Utility and format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volumes, into a minimum of 4 volumes (depending on your HDD capacity) as follows:

1st volume at the start of HDD is a small 10GB volume (choose a name without spaces e.g. Leopard_Boot or OS_X_Boot etc) that to use as a OS X boot volume with ONLY a basic fully working OS X install from your chosen OS X Install DVD (which enables you to use its Disk Utility functions on the other OS X volumes), together with:

Kext Helper b7

OSx86Tools

PC EFI v9 Chameleon Bootloader Installer

and any other Utiliy software you find very useful for OS X system installation/maintenace/repair etc., to enable you to modify/test OS X updates on the Main and Backup OS X volumes without ever risking not being able to boot into OS X on this HDD.......

The 2nd and 3rd volumes are equal size volumes each, which for use OS X Main and Backup (or Test) systems respectively.......suggest you use a size of at least 40GB for each.....

The 4th volume is a OS X Data Archive volume with all your archived OS X and OS x86 software, documents files, image files, music files, or whatever you wish to archive and keep safe......

Over to breakingbad for BIOS flashing......

Dualbooting should not be a problem since you are using Vista.......just use EasyBCD 1.7.2........

@DiNozo.

AFIK, flashing the BIOS shouldn´t affect your Vista installation. Here I dual boot with Vista Ultimate 64 w/o problems. I keep Vista in one IDE HDD and OS X in another SATA HDD and they work fine. I just need to choose what HDD I want to boot into from the mobo option.

I can´t tell you for sure if flashing your BIOS will solve this problem you´re facing. Even before flashing my BIOS with OMN´s mod, I didn´t have problems on installing onboard devices. The only problem I faced with onboard devices was related to LAN because when I decided to install OS X to my machine, the nForceLAN.kext for nvidia ethernet controllers wasn´t good enough and to avoid problems, I bought an Apple USB Ethernet Adapter.

To flash your BIOS you´ll need a Win98 boot disc so you can get into MS-DOS prompt. Once in the prompt, you should choose your device with the modded BIOS file and run the flash utility from the device (that can be a pendrive or even a disk or CD, you choose). For more detailed instructions check page 26 post #502 in this forum.

yeah but i dont understand, why i have these problems with installing my onboard devices... our systems are very similiar. i only use not the same grafikcards (i use 2 8800 GT)

i cant install audio (Realtek ALC888), LAN (nForce LAN), and my 2 GeForce 8800 GT.

i used iPC OSx86 Universal PPF5 Final as well.

i use the kext-helper to install the .kext and boot with "rd=disk0s1 -v"

AFIK, 2 GFX cards in OS X still complicated. I was searching a little yesterday and SLI in OS X sounds like problem yet. You can find some posts on success on dual GFX working fine, but it will require from you a lot of search.

I will suggest you to try installing OS X with only one GFX. It´s known that 8800 GT works fine with NVInject or NVDarwin and with strings. You first need to have a fully basic OS X system working so after that you can go on. OS X system is not that easy to deal with like Windows.

Try looking for Dual 8800 GT in the search here so you can start to see where and how people are dealing with dual gfx and sli issues.

i dont know if it is helpfull but i searched in the system.log for information about the booting process. i will just post them

i guess that was stupid^^ okey but one question breakingbad... could you say me all extensions, patches usw you installed? that would be great!

Mate I can tell you for sure.

Here is the list:

- iPC 10.5.6 Universal Final PPF5 (base system)

- 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

- Chipset Drivers: AppleNForceATA (slashack´s file)

- Ethernet Drivers: nForceLAN

- Video: used strings from EFIStudio | try the NVDarwin that matches the model and amount of memory for your GFX - Once again I suggest you to try OS X with only one GFX card.

- Audio: used one file I have here that worked before (if you want the file let me know).

- USB Drivers - Patched USB Drivers

- Fixes and Patches: Seatbelt.kext (installed this because was having issues mounting DMGs in 10.5.6)

- DSDT Patches: Patch DSDT

- AppleSMBIOS Patch: AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 - MacPro

- Chameleon Bootloader

I hope this configs help you. :)

I have a copy of ideneb 1.4 10.5.6

will this work, if it will can you help me with what patches to use etc.

thanks

1. Set your BIOS settings according to the 630i recommended settings in post #1....... if you have any BIOS settings not on the list then post them here with their options.......likewise, if you are missing any BIOS options then let me know.

2. If you are willing to devote your hard drive to OS X then partition and format it as suggested in post #1 with a 10GB Boot volume as the first volume.......

Otherwise, use Vista to resize the volume into a Vista NTFS volume and a simple unused NTFS volume, and then use Disk Utility to format it as MS-DOS (FAT) and then reformat as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).....

You can dual boot using EasyBCD 1.7.2 in Vista hopefully......

3 For installing OS X, when initially installing to the target OS X volume, do not select any video, audio and network drivers......as these can be added after you have got the basic OS X system working.....

4. In iDeneb v1.4 Customize menu, select as follows:

Kernel: 9.5.0 Voodoo ( Intel/AMD/SSE2/SSE3 )

Chipset: AppleNForceATA Test

Fix:

AppleSMBIOS-27-MP

Seatbelt Fix

If you are using a USB keyboard and USB mouse that is the best option but if using PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse then you may need

ACPI Kext 10.5.6

PS2Fix Mouse

PS2Fix Keyboard

Not sure at this stage if you need IOUSBFamilyFix ECHI USB Fix or any other Fixes but try with the above selections to begin with......we can then see what works and what does not.....

5. After installing remove DVD and boot HDD with -v -f and post a screenshot of the boot screen if it does not boot to OS X Welcome screen.....

there is nothing to compare^^. they are not listet if I tipe kextstat into the terminal. thats strange, but maybe an explanation why installing all this .kext is sensless. i installed this nForceLAN.kext about ten times. and now i see he doesnt load it: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/nForceLAN.kext

the same for alc usw.
