Well, as I said in another post, the only distro I can install is iDeneb. I have a message of "Installation Succesful". After the reboot I have tried some instructions in the boot but without any sucess.

I have tested other distros but they boot and after some instructions freeze (Leo, IPC OSx86), and I have changed my BIOS lots of time and I don't find any way to install...

Bad luck

A successfull install does not guarantee successful operation of OS X booting from the HDD.......you should try installing ACPI - APIC fix in the Customize Menu and see if it makes a difference assuming you have set:

ACPI Suspend Type [s3 (STR)]

ACPI APIC Support [Enabled]

nope after I've done these 4 steps I don't have internet so the next won't work :s

:censored2:

Can you check to see if in Terminal

lspci -nn

still picks up your onboard LAN in OS X......does your onboard LAN work in Vista still......if not, maybe you need to try a CMOS reset by removing MOBO CMOS battery for a short while......

It says command not found and yes my lan still works in vista !

Then run LSPCI using OSx86Tools and also run all System Maintenance tasks in OSx86Tools.....

Hi, I've been looking for an option similar to ACPI and I don't find anything related in my BIOS. I upload the screens of my BIOS to a post with my configuration...if you can see them I will be very pleased.

Thanks

You need to check and post the BIOS options under the Power Management sub-menu........see the last blue BIOS screen in your earlier post.....

Hi, verdant, one more time thanks.

I have checked but (I know I am a little useless) I haven't found anything about that. Anyway I'll let the pictures in the post. (I can't upload images, so I'll try after)

But this in unbelievable. Yesterday I had a message "Still waiting for root device" in iDeneb 10.5.5, so I patch the DVd and this evening I have tried again. I installed with the options you told me (maxmen=2048 debug=0x100...) and now I have this error message:

"mDNSResponder[23] WARNING: sandbox_init error Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.bsd.dirhelper err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.distributed_notifications.2 err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.ocspd err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.mDNSResponderHelper err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.SecurityServer err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.SystemConfiguration.configd er"

I'l look for some possible solution in the forum, but if you have an advice I will be very please to listen to you.

Best regards

it works verdant :) the solution was so simple:

I had to delete nforce_Ethernetdriver.kext because it interfenng with nforcelan :)

thx anyway :) for everything :)

Glad you got it sorted.......it proves how difficult it is to help remotely........e.g. only you know what kexts you have installed or loaded and/or already deleted........but if I do not know exactly what you have loaded then deleted, then I will not be able to ask you if you have loaded or deleted certain kexts......so giving help is sometimes like stabbing in the dark......but I try....... :)

OSx86 10.5.6 Final doesn't boot from HDD.

I've reinstalled it several times (DVD boots fine), but when I try to boot from HDD I always get the same error, it pops up right from the darwin boot lines: "System config file /com.apple.boot.S/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist not found."

Volume 2 I had formatted as MacOS from diskutil from DVD.

Later on I've tried repairing disk from diskutil. It reported that everything is fine, but it still could't boot.

Activating partition from Terminal (while booting from DVD) using fdisk also didn't help.

Another thing is that I couldn't get MacDrive to see my MacOS partition from vista.

Any help on how to make my macOS partition available?

Currently I'm trying to reinstall it with different chipset or patches or something... I'm out of ideas.

installed:

Kernels: 9.5.0 Voodoo

Chipset: AppleNForceATA

(I didn't install the rest for now to minimize possible driver errors)

See here about making OS X volume active....... -_-

I tried that before (see my signature). Partition is active. Doesn't help.

Also MacDrive finally saw my macOs disk. I'm not sure what I did, but now I have access to the disk from vista.

Looks like the partition is detected, but the problem is in config. Maybe I did something wrong with the installation?

Update: after I rebooted vista McDrive again seized to detect my macOs disk...

Did you partition your OS X volume as Master Boot Record and format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).....?

In iPC 10.5.6, select initially in Customize as follows

iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Base System (installed by default with AppleDecrypt.kext and Disabler.kext)

Language Translations - Optional

iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3

Kernels - 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

Drivers - Video Drivers - To suit your GFX card

Drivers - Chipset Drivers - AppleNForceATA (slashack modded MeDevil kext)

Drivers - Audio Drivers - To suit your audio codec

Drivers - Ethernet Drivers - To suit your Ethernet chipset (i.e. onboard LAN or NIC)

Drivers - USB Drivers - Patched USB Drivers

Fixes and Patches - Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 (must be installed if Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel is installed)

Fixes and Patches - AppleSMBIOS Patch - AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 Mac Pro or AppleSMBIOS AnV Mac Pro

Applications - Optional but all selected except Marvin's AMD Utility

I do have MBR and Mac OS Extended (Journaled) set up.

I tried from scratch, reformatting and reinstalling:

1. Boot from DVD

2. Reformatted my partition

3. Set it to active using fdisk

4. reboot from DVD

5. install macOs, customizing with components you described.

6. boot from HDD - got the same error about config.

Darwin boot prompt shows, but it doesn't go further then "system config ... not found message", no matter what I enter (except for '?'). When I press F8 prompt returns and allows me to choose where to boot from.

MacDrive's not working. Again.

I'm gonna try and install it on VMWare for now and maybe think/find out solution during the process.

Have you checked your BIOS settings against the recommended 650i settings in post #1 of this thread.....?

Yes, but I had skipped several scary settings, like CPU virtualization.

Now I've rechecked and reset everything according to the pdf in the first post.

Then erased volume and reinstalled... got the same config file error.

This is strange since as you say you have set up each of the 3 volumes on the HDD as Primary Partitions, set up to boot from HDD after DVDRW.......set up the OS X volume as MBR and Mac OS Extended (Journaled), made it active with fdisk etc......

Some have had to set a BIOS password to get around this error......

Glad OS X still up and running for you......what version of iMovie are you running.....09?

Did you copy over into /System/Library/Extensions/, your original backed-up IO80211Family.kext and carry out the instructions here as you did the previous time?
