Glad you better now...... ;)

Possibly your Mobo although branded as 610i is seen as a 630i chipset due to the 610i being basically a downrated 630i chipset.....?

Onboard GeForce 7100 GPU is not supported by OS X driver (i.e. video kexts) so no Core Image hardware acceleration and Quartz Extreme support.....hence GUI will not operate as quickly/smoothly as when using a GFX card enabling full CI/QE......

well im running into some issues installing the driver, i tried coping the files to a usb drive which i can not mount and i also burned them on to a cd which gives me the lovely beach ball of death when i eject the ideneb cd and replace it with th one with the driver on it....

how would you recommend installing the driver from th terminal on the install cd

thank you again

Can you boot into your HDD OS X system using -v -x.....?

I am many times trying to install iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 or iATKOS 5i 10.5.5 DVD for Intel. But still there was a problem with the video card with the drivers. I tried to install NVdarwin 256MB, NVdarwin 128MB, universal driver's, but the monitor's resolition, I can choose 1024x768. If you can, please help. Thanks

PC config:

Motherboards: Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H

Chipset: Nvidia nForce 630i

Video on board Nvidia GeForce 7100

RAM: 4Gb DDR2 800MHz

CPU: Intel Core Duo E8200

iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 Driver's and Fixes:

Kernels - 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

Drivers - Video Drivers - NVIDIA - NVdarwin 256MB or NVdarwin 128MB

If I install the video drivers, the PC does not boot. If no video driver is not set, the PC is loaded, but the screen resolution only 1024x768

Drivers - Chipset Drivers - AppleNForceATATest nForce Drivers or AppleNForceATA nForce Drivers

Drivers - USB Drivers - Patched USB Drivers

Fixes and Patches - Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5

Fixes and Patches - AppleSMBIOS Patch - AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 Mac Pro

Note that AFAIK your onboard GeForce 7100 GPU is not supported by OS X for Core Image/QuartzExtreme (likewise 7050, 7150), so do not select any video driver in iPC Customize selection menu.....

If you have installed video kexts, then do as follows:

1. After rebooting by typing -s at the boot: prompt and waiting for the prompt

:/ root# to appear, type each of the following lines, followed by Enter and then waiting for :/ root# to re-appear:

mount -uw /
cd /System/Library/Extensions
rm -rf Ge*.kext
rm -rf NV*.kext
rm -rf ATI*.kext

followed finally by exit.

"logout" will then appear on screen followed by "Jettisoning kernel linker" and the rest of the verbose booting screen, resulting in successful booting into the OS X Welcome screen and music.....

2. The System Profiler shows under Graphics/Displays, 1024x768 resolution 32-bit Color depth and 32MB VRAM with Software Driven CI and QE Not Supported, and against Kernel Extension Info: No kext loaded

Then, you can run in VESA mode without hardware CI/QE.....as follows:

Modify the com.apple.Boot.plist file as follows:

1. Go to the Terminal, and at the $ prompt, type in

sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

2. Enter your password when requested. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cursor within the Terminal window.

3. Type in (without any spaces anywhere except where there are spaces)

"Graphics Mode"="1280x1080x32@60" BUT using your display resolution.....

between <string> and </string> under <key>Kernel Flags</key>.

4. Move the cursor the Terminal window down until it no longer moves, then press Ctrl O and then Enter, to save the modified com.apple.Boot.plist file.

5. Press Ctrl X to Exit and type "exit" at the $ prompt to log out of the Terminal and then close and quit Terminal.

Mysticus C* and myself are discussing opening up a donation poll for our own NameServer and Hosting therefore we can eliminate any third/fourth party and have better, more reliable site......what do you think?

To all...

I just found this on the green demon so I am sending the link to the main page. Apparently the iDeneb team has come up with what seems to be a full 10.5.7 update disc to download, anyone willing to try?

http://insanelymac.org/

Title - iDeneb Combo Upgrade KIT 105.7

It likely employs the Apple 10.5.7 Combo Update with pre/post update wrapper scripts....but you have to register on the insanelymac site to download it.....

For system Intel/AMD SSE2 SSE3, iDeneb Combo Upgrade KIT 10.5.7 allow to update your version of Mac OS X to version 10.5.7

This KIT of update is possible to install italso on others OSx86 distro ( Ex. Kalyway, Leo4All, iATKOS, iPC, etc )

This is iDeneb Combo Upgrade KIT 10.5.7 ( Intel/AMD, SSE2/SSE3 ), developed by Layne, graphic by Cri900 and contains:

• iDeneb.MacOSx86UpdCombo10.5.7.pkg

• iDeneb.Tool.rev1.mpkg

• Extensions Disabled

Patch Integrated:

  • SystemProfiler Patch
  • About This Mac Fix
  • Remove AppleTyMCEDriver.kext

This KIT allow to update your version Mac OS X to 10.5.7 using iDeneb.MacOSx86UpdCombo10.5.7.pkg and you can boot the system with voodoo kernel typing voodoo,or with AnV XNU 1.4 kernel typing anv or with Vanilla kernel typing vanilla on the boot prompt.

With iDeneb.Tool.rev1.mpkg you can install some kext excluded from update 10.5.7:

• ACPI Kext 10.5.7

• AppleSMBIOS

You can also install:

• PS2Fix per ACPI Kext 10.5.7

⁃ MouseFix

⁃ KeyboardFix

• AppleSMBIOSEFI

• oldHPET

• IOUSBFamilyFix

• NvidiaID

You can setup the kernel voodoo or AnV kernel like kernel by default using the voices under the menu kernel.

You can also install Chameleon 1.0.12.

You can find all extensions excluded in the folder Extensions Disabled.

useful for testing if your system can run with latest Vanilla kernel.....

I have a look for some audio drivers but i can't find any

@verdant can you help me out ?

If you are talking about Asus P5N-MX MOBO, it is a Realtek ALC662 chipset codec you require......try VoodooHDA 0.2.2 Beta.....or patched AppleHDA......or this version....

Are you installing OS X on SATA or PATA HDD? You need to use iPC Final Version with the v1.1 nForce patch......

See my iPC install guide in my blog......but note that your onboard GeForce 7100 GPU is not supported by OS X for Core Image/QuartzExtreme, so do not select any video driver in iPC Customize selection menu.....and initially do not select a audio and network driver either.....focus on getting the basoc OS X system running OK......there is a possibility you may still need to try OSx86DeFacto....

I'am installing on pata hdd. I will try with the basics.

Thanks!!

I will respond later today when I have more time....... <_<

Ok update after a long weekend of work.

I was able to get and install those drivers after borrowing a buddies mac and formatting a USB stick, i manually installed the kext from the terminal. I still have an issue of the system freezing before starting up. See below image.

I also tried installing IPC OSX86 10.5.6 and recieved the same issue.

Thank you.

Which device is disk3s0 according to diskutil list in Terminal.........is it your DVDRW or USB stick or a HDD....? My initial guess is that you are reporting an DVD I/O error......possibly ID CRC or ECC error.....

I would definitely say Bitchin! I would try to donate what I could as well. I think it would be awesome as well as necessary for Nvidia based boards for now and into the future with Snow Leopard.

P.S. I am also glad to see the site is back up...
