yeah i got it. I had to change some settings in the bios. But in your post the files where namend "AFUD408.exe and the A7350NMS V16.rom" my rom is "A7350NMS.170.rom" and i downloaded it on the page you told me (MS-7350v17 P6N SLI Platinum). thats the right one, isnt it?

breakingbad would need to confirm if this OK.......my guess is that v17 refers to 170 ROM........?

In fact it takes a while for the :/ root# prompt to appear

I am assumin that your display is a LCD monitor which has a natural resolution setting for optimum dispaly quality depending on the screen size, e.g 1280 x 1024 for a 19" screen......you should put in the correct values for your monitor....

Without the benefit of full CI/QE, anything that is GUI-driven and is related to graphics acceleration will be affected....you will have see how significant the effect is for each application you use....

You either need to install an ACPI Fix from your OS X Distro.....or you need a modded BIOS......see post #1.......

well, hi verdant here i am again, i must say that the instructions that you gave me the other day were great, i finally could change my resolution to 1280x1024 or 1680x1050, but on the other hand i obviously can`t install the video drivers for my 7100 630i, i tryied all the options you know it but as you told me, there aren`t the exact drivers for this video yet, anyway............there is no problem because in some weeks i`m going to buy a geforce 8600 :) it`s a nice one and i saw in previous post of this forum that there are video drivers for it so it would work nice in mi kalyway :P

another thing that i need, well i`m asking like always....:P is that i still have problems with the sound...i installed a lot of sound drivers but still have the same problem :(

do you have an idea of what i could do??

i remember you the specs, i think that i need drivers for alc888 but i installed all diferent ones and have no succed..

thanks again and good luck

Sorry, I know this is a bit off topic but when clicking on Sabr's profile to bring up a contact address to contact him, I saw Mysticus C** was listed as having visited Sabr's profile also, clicked on his details and found that his account, like my own, seems to have been removed. My account name was Detosx. Is there any way I can get my Messages back? I ran an Acer thread and was keen to update my details at some point. Again, sorry, I know this is off topic and that at 600 plus posts I'm a small fry compared to the very excellent Mysticus, to whom I have expressed comiserations, but I would be grateful if someone could get back to me. Many thanks.

According to mac_cute's post, it looks as if the lost accounts and profiles may not be recoverable.......you could I guess copy and paste the information from your old thread into a ne mirror thread under your new user account and ask the mods to delete your old topic......please will you PM the Admins directly rather than continue off-topic in this thread....and once it is sorted please delete you off-topic post from this thread.....

Thanks verdant

Hi mate. Know you´re kinda confuse with the flash process.

The AFUD408.exe is the flash utility (understand as the flash software) to flash the BIOS from a pendrive, CD or disk.

Maybe you missed some words from the post, because I remember to say that this AFUD408.exe you need to download together with the original BIOS from the MSI site. Without the flash utility you´ll be unable to do it.

So go HERE and download the file. In the file you´ll find two files: AFUD408.exe and the A7350NMS V17.rom that you´ll delete and keep only the .exe file, right? After that go to post #502 on page 26 and do all the steps from there.

Cheers.

yeah sure. thats exactly what i did. and than i donwnloaded the modified BIOS ROM from "BIOS by OriginalMACNUT"

Download it here:

MSI P6N SLi Platinum - 7350v17 - FILE

the file I downloaded was "http://www.osxcores.site50.net/page5/page6/files/P6N%20SLI%20Platinum%207350v17.rar"

but the file in this rar is "A7350NMS.170.rom" and not like you said in Post #502 "A7350NMS V16.rom"

i just want to know if this is the right file.

I think what breakingbad is saying is that from the MSI site you download 7350v17.zip which contains Afud408.exe and the MSI A7350NMS.170 ROM (which is the P6N SLI Platinum (MS-7350) V1.7 BIOS Release)......you then ditch the downloaded MSI A7350NMS.170 ROM and use Afud408.exe to install the OriginalMACNUT A7350NMS.170 ROM inside P6N SLI Platinum 7350v17.rar if you are running 10.5.6, or to install the OriginalMACNUT A7350NMS 160.ROM inside A7350NMS 160.zip if you are running 10.5.5........

okey. thats what i wanted to do. ^^ thx

@ verdant

Thanx mate. That was exactly what I was trying to say but got a little bit confused. :)

@DiNozo.

In fact you just need to flash your BIOS using the A7350NMS v1.7 using 10.5.5 or 10.5.6 version. As OriginalMACNUT´s told me, the 10.5.6 version of a modded BIOS works fine with previous versions. :)

So you don´t need to worry. Just flash your BIOS with the file provided in OriginalMACNUT´s site and I believe everything´s gonna be fine.

In fact, I´m going to make an edition to the #502 post to make it easier to understand. :P

Cheers.

P.S. - Sorry for the late response to the topics, it´s because I´m facing some problems in family and my grandma need to be in hospital the last two days and I had to help my father with many other things.

Remember you are working in MSDOS so the file name is limited to 8 characters.....so the command would be

AFUD408 A7350N~1.ROM

Are you sure that AFUD408 A7350N~1.ROM is right? the files name is A7350NMS.170.ROM

AFUD408 A7350N~1.ROM didnt change anything.

See here for MS-DOS filename truncation......

Confirm that you are in correct directory with

cd B:\BIOS

dir

you should see AFUD408.EXE and A7350N~1.ROM listed

Hi mate, verdant is right. Before typing the full name of the file you should list the files that are in you thumbdrive to se the name - that´s exactly same that verdant type here - and the you should use the same after AFUD408.EXE A7350N~1.rom, press enter and follow the instructions that should appear. AFIK, system will ask you to confirm if you want to flash your BIOS with this new file. Say yes and be happy. :(

Cheers.

What I will suggest you is start from the very begin.

- Confirm BIOS settings;

- Format your HDD again as Master Boot Record (MBR);

- Do the partition scheme suggested in #1 post;

- Format the partitions as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled);

- Try installing iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final or Kalyway 10.5.2 and look for the Mysticus C** ComboUpdate files.

I can assure you that files provided by Mysticus C** rocks all the time.

Remember that you first need to have a basic OS X system running and then you go to install extras drivers. :rolleyes:

Hi mate.

You may know that OS X system in PC body is kinda difficult and can be so much harder without knowing your system specs correctly.

So, I´d like to ask you to write your system specs detailed and you´ll get as much help as you need.

@ aly69

First check your BIOS settings against recommended settings for 610i chipset......give full system details (e.g. CPU, RAM on MOBO, HDD SATA or PATA etc.; see our signatures for examples) as breakingbad says.....also what distro have you installed and what kernel did you install.....?

The problem relates to timing issues (CPU/FSB/BIOS/kernel problem...)......as Superhai has emphasised

This is due to timing issues! When the kernel starts up it tries to figure out how much the time stamp counter increments in 1/20 of a second. It reads the counter once and then it reads it later, if that value is lesser than what is expected this happens (the time stamp counter is supposed to count at a set value per second). This routine exists in pre leopard kernels, but i think it is also used in some recompiled kernels (for speedstep and similar). The reason why you get bogus reading could be because of bios bug, hw speedstepping, processor lapping or your tsc is not stable... etc.

Hi aly69.

Have you update your BIOS using modded ones or you just use original BIOS from Asus? If you´re updated from Asus original files, that´s can be the nature of your problem. Some original BIOS has problem to deal with OS X system.

Check on www.osxcores.site50.net if your BIOS is already modded by OriginalMACNUT and then do the flashing with this BIOS from his site and see what happens. :D

Hope to help.

P.S. - Be sure all your hardware is set like suggested on first post of this thread to avoid no goes on installation of OS X.

Thanks i might have to get a floppy to update it tho

EDIT: it doesnt support my motherbroad :( (what can i do now)

yes i used the ones from asus

You´ll need a modded BIOS to make it work.

I´ll ask for OriginalMACNUT to mod your BIOS but it can be a little hard to get it fast because OMN´s weren´t with a computer at home. ;)

@ ALL WHO´S WAITING FOR A MODED BIOS.

Today OriginalMACNUT wrote in his forum that he´ll be gone for a while because of the birth of his baby girl, so to all the people who are waiting for a moded bios from him, my advise is to wait a little and respect his moment. Hi told me every free time he has he stays with his little daughter and I truly believe we have to respect this moment.

;)

Cheers to our mate who became dad as many others here. :)
