well here ends my story I think... :D

i don`t know what it is a DSDT-modded BIOS and I don`t know what else to doin order to boot macOs i guess I will have to change the motherboard or.....mmm I will think in another solution :/

hi verdant it`s me again :(, i`m a little bit angry with myself because i decided to leave the instalation of ideneb 10.5.6 for a while and tryied with kalyway 10.5.2, well, i managed to install it and audio, usb, internet and video drivers didn`t work........

so i read a lot from the forums and succed in fixing the usb and internet probem, actually i`m writing from the safari so i`m happy :D

the audio isn`t working yet because i don`t know, i tryied a lot of drivers for the ALC88, i read a lot and do what the forums said but is still making problems, anyway this is not my real problem....

the real problem is my video drivers, i have a nforce 7100 / 630i so I downloaded about 6 pkg. for that video card, for the nvidia and noup....nothing happened, if I install any kext of nvinject my desktop just freezes, i have to restart and while booting i have a biiiiiiiig kernel panic so i must reinstall kalyway..........the same happens if I choose the natit gfnvidia kext in the installation of the kalyway........so i don`t know what is the exact driver to install, I downloaded the NVidia universall installer or the NVInstallerV.33.pkg, NVInstallerV.34.pkg or NVInstallerV.41.pkg from http://scottdangel.com/blog/?page_id=20 and nothing happened...well, that`s all i think, i expect you could help me because i`m lost.

The audio doesn`t bother me very much but the video drivers of courseeeeeeeeeee :(, i can`t download any good program because the video is needed, the coverflow of itunes doesn`t work, i can`t see any videos so it would be veeeeeeeeeeeeery gratefull to find a solution, well that`s all, thanks again for listening and reading :)

AFIK based on the posts from users having MOBOs with it.......your integrated 7100 shared memory GPU is still not yet supported by OS X drivers, so just run in VESA 3.0 mode at present.....

1. After rebooting by typing -s at the boot: prompt and waiting for the prompt

:/ root# to appear, type each of the following lines, followed by Enter and then waiting for :/ root# to re-appear:

mount -uw /

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*.kext

followed finally by exit.

"logout" will then appear on screen followed by "Jettisoning kernel linker" and the rest of the verbose booting screen, resulting in successful booting into the OS X Welcome screen and music.....

2. The System Profiler shows under Graphics/Displays, 1024x768 resolution 32-bit Color depth and 32MB VRAM with Software Driven CI and QE Not Supported, and against Kernel Extension Info: No kext loaded

3. Modify the com.apple.Boot.plist file as follows:

1. Go to the Terminal, and at the $ prompt, type in

sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

2. Enter your password when requested. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cursor within the Terminal window.

3. Type in (without any spaces anywhere except where there are spaces)

"Graphics Mode"="1280x1080x32@60" BUT using your display resolution.....

between <string> and </string> under <key>Kernel Flags</key>.

4. Move the cursor the Terminal window down until it no longer moves, then press Ctrl O and then Enter, to save the modified com.apple.Boot.plist file.

5. Press Ctrl X to Exit and type "exit" at the $ prompt to log out of the Terminal and then close and quit Terminal.

@ bozotheclown - are you having any USB device (e.g. memory stick) mounting issues after bootup......ensure that you have the same kernel and System.kext versions.......see here.......

You mean in the installer? I haven't reached a state in which I have a working OSX system after install yet

Your post said

With iDeneb 1.4 the PS/2 keyboard + USB mouse combo is no problem. It works when I boot the install DVD and enter volume names for my disks and move the mouse pointer etc.

I didn't try BIOS raid, I tried making a raid-0 volume in the OSX installer.

My DVD is pata and connected to a cable with only 1 connector and jumpered master. Booting the iDeneb 1.4 dvd and installing works like a charm.

The issue I seem to have after install finished is a firewire issue.

so it is not clear what problems you are having other than firewire.......I asked about USB functioning because of similar issues and solution with Firewire.......so I meant on your HDD OS X system......

What are the other setting options for

RAID Mode Options

SATA 1 and SATA 2

Also, do your CPU Features settings match the 630i OS X settings in post #1?

@ DiNozo

AFIK it is still the case that you cannot run MOBO/BIOS native software RAID i.e. fake-RAID with OS X (ONLY Apple's own OS X software RAID), although hardware RAID using a RAID PCI-E card may work..... e.g. with Sil3124 orSil3132 chipsets....

So, even if you are using only one SATA hardrive for OS X, you cannot have BIOS RAID set up......

In BIOS, RAID Mode Options should be set to AHCI if that is an option......not IDE or RAID

And RAID mode for the OS X HDD should be [Disabled]

@ disorden I replied to your post already.....see post#629........?

So... :/ I'm getting the same errors like in my previous post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...&st=600#619 even with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048 it still doesn't want to start. In my Bios I can't see JMicron RAID controller. Any solutions? Maybe I should try another distro likie iPC or iDeneb?

I will PM you in an hour or so with a possible solution......

I dont know why but i cant finde the right settings. Do I need a BIOS update. Should i use one of this modified BIOS?

Why should this solve my problems with loading kext?

Also, do your CPU Features settings match the 630i OS X settings in post #1?

Why 630i, i use 650i?!

Sorry.....a typing error.......it happens when helping people with different nForce chipset MOBOs at the same time...... ;)

The correct BIOS settings are very important........without them (with or without a DSDT modded BIOS) you are wasting your time......likewise the correct IDE jumper settings and cable connections......read the posts in both my nForce threads to see the truth of what I say......

@DiNozo.

I thought you were already using a modded BIOS.

Your mobo is the same of mine and this modded BIOS is available for a little time now.

Download it here:

MSI P6N SLi Platinum - 7350v17 - FILE

This is the last file that MSI provided for this mobo and is already modded from OMN´s. ;)

So, don´t waste your time, go to page 26 and check post #502 on how to flash MSI BIOS and be happy. :)

well finally i found the post............

i have some questions...........in the begining, i type -s and the when root apears i type mout -uw /

that`s ok....in fact there i type rm -rf /Syste/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext, i wait and other root appears after some seconds but when i type the other command rm -rf /Syste/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext nothing happens, well actually maybe yes but it doesn`t take time to show me the other root..i think that is so fast that i am believing that nothing happens, is it ok??

and other question............when i have to type ....... "Graphics Mode"="1280x1080x32@60" BUT using your display resolution.....

between <string> and </string> under <key>Kernel Flags</key>. i don`t understand, does it mean that if in windows i used the resolution.....1680 x 1050 i have to change it to this??.... "Graphics Mode"="1680x1050x32@60"or i am wrong??

and finally, this whole thing would we able to let me for exampole run photoshop or after effects or all the video programms i used in windows??? or only it would change my resolution??

thanks and sorry i am a little bit stupid

1. Set your BIOS settings according to the 630i recommended settings in post #1....... if you have any BIOS settings not on the list then post them here with their options.......likewise, if you are missing any BIOS options then let me know.

2. If you are willing to devote your hard drive to OS X then partition and format it as suggested in post #1 with a 10GB Boot volume as the first volume.......

Otherwise, use Vista to resize the volume into a Vista NTFS volume and a simple unused NTFS volume, and then use Disk Utility to format it as MS-DOS (FAT) and then reformat as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).....

You can dual boot using EasyBCD 1.7.2 in Vista hopefully......

3 For installing OS X, when initially installing to the target OS X volume, do not select any video, audio and network drivers......as these can be added after you have got the basic OS X system working.....

4. In iDeneb v1.4 Customize menu, select as follows:

Kernel: 9.5.0 Voodoo ( Intel/AMD/SSE2/SSE3 )

Chipset: AppleNForceATA Test

Fix:

AppleSMBIOS-27-MP

Seatbelt Fix

If you are using a USB keyboard and USB mouse that is the best option but if using PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse then you may need

ACPI Kext 10.5.6

PS2Fix Mouse

PS2Fix Keyboard

Not sure at this stage if you need IOUSBFamilyFix ECHI USB Fix or any other Fixes but try with the above selections to begin with......we can then see what works and what does not.....

5. After installing remove DVD and boot HDD with -v -f and post a screenshot of the boot screen if it does not boot to OS X Welcome screen.....

Hi thanks so much for the help this is what has happened so far:

I have done every thing that you have asked except I couldn't find the "AppleSMBIOS-27-MP" so I used one caled AppleSMBIOS-MacPro (I think this is what it was called)

and here is the screen shot:

In fact it takes a while for the :/ root# prompt to appear

I am assumin that your display is a LCD monitor which has a natural resolution setting for optimum dispaly quality depending on the screen size, e.g 1280 x 1024 for a 19" screen......you should put in the correct values for your monitor....

Without the benefit of full CI/QE, anything that is GUI-driven and is related to graphics acceleration will be affected....you will have see how significant the effect is for each application you use....

1. Set your BIOS settings according to the 630i recommended settings in post #1....... if you have any BIOS settings not on the list then post them here with their options.......likewise, if you are missing any BIOS options then let me know.

with verdant's feedback and my previous experience, yesterday, we found a major breakthrough answer to FREEZE problems in official updates...

it is not caused by RAM... rather gfx drivers issue... Verdant will explain it later  Updates will be less of a pain from now on! However it will require nForce Fixed Gfx Update all the time! due to the nature of nvidia gfx drivers in os x...

hey. yeah i did everything like you said on post #502, used a WIN 98 Boot-CD, pressed F8, used "Safe mode command promt only". than i checked out which drive is the USB-stick. i am sure it is "B" but after typing "B:/" there is an error "Not ready reading drive B.....Abort, Retry, Fail?"

if I write "C:/" the error is "Invalid drive specification" but I think thats normal because there is no hard drive pluged in. I will check out google, but maybe you know something about this as well.

thx
