That´s sound bad to me. : (

I asked Kabyl´s to mod my newest BIOS version, but he didn´t answered my request yet.

If I send you my modded BIOS you can check to see if there´s something wrong? If yes, let me know so I can send you.

In fact, when my BIOS was modded by Kabyl, the only issue till that time was about the cores of my CPU, I don´t know if he fixed any other issue related to BIOS fixing for MSI mobo´s.

[]´s

The best person to ask if Kabyl does not reply, is OriginalMACNUT about his modded BIOSs for 10.5.5

(MS)-7383v52 P6N SLI Platinum

(MS)-7350v16 *(NMS) P6N SLI Platinum

as I am not sure which would be best for your MOBO.......see here.....sorry but having a different MOBO means I cannot be of detailed help on your MOBO BIOS modding.....

Thanx for the tip.

I´ll ask originalmacnut if he can mod my most recent BIOS version from MSI website.

[]´s

EDIT

I flashed my BIOS with the file provided from OriginalMacNut for the 10.5.5 Leopard. Let´s see how it will behave by now.

@DGNeo

- HOW TO FLASH MSI BIOS : for P6N SLi Platinum.

Before going to the guide, let me say something. This procedure require some attention for it because a bad flash for the BIOS can cause you a lot of trouble and mal function of your mobo.

!!! WARNING !!!

- Don´t flash from a floppy disk

- Don´t flash if you don´t know what you are doing

- I assume no responsability for any damages resulting from improper use or lack of technical expertise

Now that I have said what is important, let´s start.

Before flashing, do follow the steps bellow.

- Download the BIOS package from the MSI website because you´ll need one file called AFUD408.exe that comes with the BIOS package provided from MSI. > LINK HERE <

- Have a boot disk so you can boot it to MS-DOS (you may use an Win98 Boot Disc, like I used).

- In a pendrive, create a directory to put the AFUD408.exe and the A7350NMS V16.rom files (in my case, i called it BIOS). Remember that the .rom file is the one provided from OriginalMACNUT, not the original file from MSI.

- Now you have to boot from the Boot Disc to get to MS-DOS prompt.

- Find the source of your pendrive and go into the folder you putted your files - in my case was C:/BIOS - my Kingston pendrive was identified by the system as the C: drive

- Once you´re in the folder with the 2 files specified above, type: AFUD408 A7350N~1.ROM and the Flash Utility will start to flash your MOBO BIOS.

!!! EXTREMELY IMPORTANT !!!

- Be sure that during the flash you have any kind of power loss. If you have power loss your flash is gone.

Flashing the BIOS take just a few seconds.

After that, I hope you can boot into OS X and enjoy it. Since I started using Leopard, never came back to Windows. I still have it installed just in case of need, but just use it to play Counter Strike Source. ; )

LOL.

Cheers.

@ thepraxXx

Firstly, your system log indicates that the IOATAFamily.kext is missing from /System/Library/Extensions/......since you deleted it......

Secondly, you should reinstall it......

Thirdly, I will sort out a modified nForceATA.kext for you with your SATA and IDE (PATA) controller/interface vendor/device IDs added and get back to you shortly.....see your PM.....PM me if it makes any difference....... :)

Hi verdant.

Seems my system is behaving so fine till now.

I told you that I flashed my BIOS with the ROM file provided by OriginalMACNUT for Leo 10.5.5?

Since that, system is running smooth with 4 Gb RAM with no freeze till now. What I face now, is that sometimes, when system goes to sleep it doesn´t wake up so I need to reboot, but this is the least. ;)

Glad to point you in the right direction...... :) Perhaps you can sort out the sleep problem by running DSDT patcher now that you have the OriginalMACNUT flashed BIOS.......

Im using Ideneb v1.3 10.5.5. however i also have iATKOS 5i and 4.1i at my disposal, however I prefer to be installing Leopard.

To be honest with you my friend Im not too sure what Im doing when in this customization. Im checking the options that are close to what I have on board (e.g. audio) however with things like Kernal's etc. I havent got a clue.

Heres what tried for my last install:

Patches :

Audio - ALC889

Chipset- AppleNforceATA

Kernel - Kernel 9.4.0. Stage XNU

Network - ETHERNET - RTL8201CL

Network - WIRELESS - N/A

Fix - Last time i tried this I just checked them all....

Video - NVInject

Hope you can guide me further!

Hi all

I have been trying to install with iATKOS v5i a couple of times now trying different setups. I am able to boot and start the installation without any problems, I don't need to type any commands to boot. the problem starts when after I have chosed alle the patches and driver for my system:

System: iATKOS 10.5.5

bootloader: PC EFI

decrypter: Apple Decrypt

sMBIOS: SMBIOS-EFI

Kernel.- VooDoo

ACPI: x86 ACPI or EFI ACPI

Disabler

OHR

Remove Thermal Kext

VGA: NVkush or NVinject

Sata: nForce SATA

Speedstep: Inte Speedstep b or a

NTFS-3G

Network: nForce Ethernet - Realtek 8139

The Installation starts but after a couple of minutes I get the error:

Install Failed

Mac OSX could not be installed on your computer. The install could not validate the contents of the 10.5.5.Intel package. contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

click restart .......

the disc got through the disc check and I burned it at vary low speed "4x". I have set up my Bios as good as have been able to figure out. the only thing that I haven't touched is AHCP becaus I cant find it.

My BIOS settings are:

Main:

Primary IDE Master: Sony DVD RW

SATA 1: WD 1600 (this is where I want to install on)

SATA 2: WD 5000 Win server 2008 and all my styff

As for your BIOS I would enable CPU Internal Thermal Control to protect your CPU

Regarding your SATA HDD for OS X, have you partitioned it using the Install DVD Disk Utility as Master Boot Record and formatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)......MBR causes fewer issues than GPT (GUID) for most users.......

As for your initial OS X Customize selections, initially concentrate on getting a basic system working......

System: iATKOS 10.5.5

Bootloader: PC EFI V9

Decrypter: AppleDecrypt

SMBIOS: SMBIOS-EFI if this causes problems try AppleSMBIOS-netkas (also try AppleSMBIOS-28)

Kernel: 9.50 Kernel Voodoo

ACPI: x86 ACPI and APIC driver (also try without these)

Remove Thermal Kext

PS/2 (only if you are using a PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse)......USB keyboard and mouse recommended for fewer problems

SATA/IDE: nForce SATA

and do not make any video, network or audio driver selections to begin with.......they can be installed later once OS X is running OK from your HDD.......

Hi verdant

I have enabled CPU Internal Thermal Control. and used the install parametres you said, in different combinations. the harddisk i have been tryind to install on is formatted as MBR and the partition is osx extended journaled. but there is still no luck, I have been trying all day but the installation stops at the same place every time. I burned a new disc but it ends the same way.

I have have thought about trying iPC instead. do you think that could make it?
