nope Imovie 2008

Will look now for the broadcom again :)

btw my sata dvd also don't work :(

edit: sata works :)

For iMovie08, check on your System Version.......in Terminal type

cd /System/Library/CoreServices

sudo nano SystemVersion.plist

and ensure that the System Version is 10.5.x.......and that iMovie is in Applications directory and not a sub-directory.......if that is not the issue......then try Software Update and/or also try reinstalling Quicktime........

Hi verdant.

How ya doing? Hope you fine. Got away from here for a few days because I had to travel. Now I´m back.

Well, I could test my system since last time we "talk" when I could realize that my system get that random freeze when using more than 2Gb RAM. I tested the system using every single core and got no KP, but when I used 3072 GB RAM I got that freeze. So I went back to 2048 and executed the same steps and system reacted fine. :) and I´m using slachack´s kext to avoid this problem but seems not to be working to me.

I am well thanks but very busy in real life at present so not able to spend much time here......just remind me, are you still using Voodoo Release v1 Rev_A kernel with slashack's AppleNForceATA.kext and c1ramp=0?.......it could be BIOS related.....have you tried using a modded DSDT.aml file in the / directory using fassl's DSDT patcher or one generated using koalala's ACPI (i.e. DSDT) patcher.....

system version is 10.5.6 but normally it was 10.5.5 but I changed it with the link you gave me for iwork

and almost for everything update but not for imovie

and about my broadcom?

About your Broadcom wifi.....

In an earlier post I asked

Did you copy over into /System/Library/Extensions/, your original backed-up IO80211Family.kext and carry out the instructions here as you did the previous time?
meaning that did you try copying over an unmodded copy of your backed-up original IO80211Family.kext in /S/L/E/ and then modify this copy.....?

I backup the IO80211Family.kext and modified the original one, is that wrong?

No......as by modifying another copy of the backed-up original, you would not carry over any errors from previously modified kext......not sure what the problem is as I can't duplicate your set up......but suggest you do not try and run onboard LAN and Airport (for wifi) together under OS X.....

Hii@all

So I have a very nerved problem^^

My Hardware

Intel E5200 2x2.5Ghz(12.5x200) but in the System Profiler he only tells me 2.4Ghz (12x200)

MSI MCP73 P6NGM-L Nforce 610i and the newest BIOS for the Wolfdale

WDC Hard Drive : 0x07f010de I don't know if its supported, because in the Nforce.kext's isn't the ID

IDE DVD-RW

IDE DVD-ROM

2GB RAM

I installed iAtkos 5i with this patches: MainSystem, PC_EFI V9,AppleDecrypt, Voodookernel, SmbiosEnabler,Disabler.kext,Powermanagment,Ps/2,OHR,ThermalKexts,Intel AHCI SATA not the Nforce SATA

I can choose all the SATA/IDE Patches it don't help, but I must choose the Intel AHCI SATA.Otherwise it don't boot

But every Boot I get IOkitWaitQuiet and Interface Namer etc. My boot takes 5 min :(

I tried many Nforce.kexts but it don't help, and I don't know if I maked every time right^^

So I can delete the IOATAFamilty.kext, and the Nforce.kext and it boot although. But every time with this error :(

But anyway I come to the Desktop :P

I attache two pics with the error.

Hi there,

I assume your WD HDD is a SATA HDD......yes/no?

For the Customize choices, suggest you choose

AppleSMBIOS-27 6th Rev Mac Pro not AppleSMBIOS Enabler

I don't understand :P what do I have to do? :)

I think you need to make a choice between setting up WiFi internet access via USRobotics PCI card (i.e. Airport) or Ethernet internet access via onboard LAN but not both........

airport if I have to choose...

OK try by renaming nForceLAN.kext in /S/L/E to nForceLAN.kext.orig......then try setting up Broadcom wifi as before starting with a copy of the unmodded original IO80211Family.kext.......

So I have installed iAtkos with AppleSMBIOS-27 6th Rev iMac, the iAtkos DVD has no Mac Pro.

I get the same error^^ with IOKitWaitQuiet etc.

Any Ideas?

edit: I get the Line "Startup disk: Leopard" only when I plug a USB Stick in -_-

What do you get for Startup Disk without a USB stick plugged in?

What is the option below AppleSMBIOS-27 6th Rev iMac?.........is it for Mac Book? If so, then try AppleSMBIOS netkas or AppleSMBIOS-28......then report what About This Mac shows......

In Terminal type

lspci -nn

and post results here.....

so rename the nforcelan.kext to nforcelanorig.kext and copy my backup from the IO80211.kext to the original folder and replace it and try again the steps?

Hi mate.

Yes, I already patched the DSDT file and I´m using the Voodoo Kernel with chamaleon boot loader.

I already did thoose steps with you guiding me as well. :(

To use the 4 cores of my CPU is not a problem, but when it comes to use more RAM memory, system gets this freezing problem.

P.S. - If you wanna take a look at the DSDT file I have, let me know.

So I think there is a big progress with me^^

I found this on pcidatabase:

2mfai4h.png

Did I need this Vendor ID ? I've thinked that my VEN/DEV ID from my WD Hard Drive is : 0x07f010de

But it isn't!!!!!! How I get the right ID? And from what thing, from Hard Drive or Nvidia Chipset?

lspci -nn , look at this :

My System Profile @ Serial ATA :

Download and run either DPCIManager or OSx86Tools to get vendor & device ID.......BTW many users seem to have fewer problems with MBR than with GPT.......

Have you tried, or do you have the option, in your BIOS to try dropping your RAM speed to 667MHz from 800MHz?

Hey Guys, was reading the thread and thought you might be able to help. I'm working with iPC 10.5.6 and have it up and running to my satisfaction except for 2 elements to my knowledge.

1st. I have 3 sata drives in my Comp and for some reason OSx is not mounting the two formated NTFS with my windows installs. This isn't a major problem but i would like to be able to access them so as to be able to transfer files back and forth. Profiler can see them but it just doesn't seem to be mounting them for me to access.

2nd. My dvd drive seems to not be reading anything as i put in a cd or dvd and it asks what do do with blank dvd.

I am trying a few things but any help would be appreciated... Thanks ahead of time.

Hi verdant.

As you asked, I put my memory clock to 667 MHz from 800 MHz.

My System Profiler still doesn´t recognizes my memory clock. It identifies it likes 0 Mhz.
