GenoOrlando
Deviato` method works at all 10.6.x installations (not sure about 10.5.x). If you want to use a kext, do not update to 10.6.3 (there are still issues/not sure again about 10.5.x). No how you say that when i installed 10.6.0 on my PC then used the 10.6.3 Combo update and Then Restarted And It WORKED!! flowlesly just as easy as updating a reall Mac So the update does work just not on all pc's
bboyg
This post it 3 months old. I`m not sure, but I think, that there is not a kext that exist and not tried from us
bboyg
I told you DO NOT update to 10.6.3! You may have issues if you are using the X3100 modified kexts. If you want a stable Snow Leopard update only to 10.6.2 it is enough.

bboyg
Install Chameleon v2 RC3 ,4, 5... as your default bootloader and replace the boot file at your root directory (the partition where is your OS X installed, like C:/ in Windows) with the one from here: http://deviato.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/ch...-gma-version-2/ And next time DO NOT use your Caps Lock so much, and will be great to tell us at least are you using 10.5.x or 10.6.x !!! It just makes a big cycle in the end. @bboyg: Do you think it would be possible for you to write all the known information in a separate thread so we can sticky it? iPoco

bboyg
GFX is NVidia card, IGPU is for Intel HD In my DSDT GFX0 is the ONLY one card that I have, the Intel one. Very interesting...
litosudo
In my DSDT GFX0 is the ONLY one card that I have, the Intel one. Very interesting... Sorry, I wasn't too clear. I meant that in MacBookPro6,1 DSDT shows two graphics devices and GFX0 corresponds to Nvidia, but in GMA4500 notebooks with only one graphic device, GFX0 usually is the Intel GPU like you said. Well, with 10.6.4 kexts, patched to match 2a42 device, we have still the same problem with the FB kext: it loads, but the screen go black at startup. YoseMiteNL
I'm running succesfully 10.6.4 with GMA X4500 kext. I have two questions: - How can you take a screenshot in Snow Leopard without QE/CI support? - How can I change the (Snow Leopard) theme? I would like to change the Apple top menu background... firefoxsilver9
what performance drawbacks do you guys experience with this graphics card? iTunes coverflow doesn't work? What about general osx eye candy effects like the dock scrolling speed and framerates?

What about general osx eye candy effects like the dock scrolling speed and framerates? there is no itunes coverflow, but coverflow for your apps do work. everything else works fine, HD flash video will stutter though from sites like YouTube, but I was able to play downloaded 720P trailers without a hitch. The only other thing missing that I noticed is that when you add widgets to the dashboard you don't see that ripple effect. Also, if you are running Leopard the menu bar won't be transparent(but I like it better without transparency anyway)
