collit99
Upon checking your info.plist, I did the same approach way back but still no luck on having mute on alc268. Instead I got the external mic working. Sorry, was tired yesterday!I just use the try that i used for sigmatel, in hope that mute have same behaviour. This one is clean. ѕӎѳѳ₮ңӌ
hmmm i cannot get this to work no matter what. i manually added the kext that had autosensing fixed, but that gave me a lot of noise so i uninstalled it, afterwhich i got advised to turn down the second mic volume, but i could never reinstall it. so i reinstalled leopard, and now cannot get anything to work, that includes manual with kexthelper and osx86tools and the installer packages by eddie. argh..... i will let you know where it fails after work so i dont get into to much {censored} for not doing what im supposed to be doing :s . this is what i managed to pull out of the console... bongo
Hello again MadTux, I just tried your new driver - getting better, but still no internal mic. I don't have an external one to try it. Output is definitely better - has volume control working. Here, I'm attaching to you again the newest codec dump from Ubuntu 8.04 with latest updates. Trainedwreck
Pardon my newbieness on the subject but I have everything working except headphone output and the switching which is untestable until headphones work, but input does indeed show up. What do I dump, and how do I do it? Extreme thanks, this is the last bug to shake in my whole Toshiba Satellite P200-Rt2 Mac hipster killing machine. The listing on the Codec is Alc861 but the one included with Ideneb v1.4 does nothing. Had to return to Azalia which only does speaker output and nothing so far has changed anything until I tried the alc861VD toshiba here. I am in your debt if you can iron out this last kink. bob2600
Here's how you prepare a codec dump... Hope this helps :censored2: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do I make a linux codec dump ? - By Metajames OK, this is for everyone who is confused about how to get the linux codec dump. This is how I did it, you can do it other ways but basiclly you need to boot linux, cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 and save the output so you can feed it to the patcher on OSX. I saved mine directly to a USB stick, make sure to make it writable by right clicking on it and selecting the option if you do that. I will describe a email method below since I think it is a bit more straightforward. If anyone has problems with these steps let me know and I can revise this post. 1) Download Knoppix Live CD Linux Distro http://www.kernel.org/pub/dist/knoppix/KNO...07-01-04-EN.iso 2) Burn the Knoppix iso to a CD-R 3) Boot your Hackintosh from the Knoppix CD you just burned (press enter at the prompt to fully boot into gui) 4) Open a terminal session from the dock, the icon looks really similar to the OSX one, black screen with a ">" 5) Type in the following command CODE cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 > ~/Desktop/codec_dump.txt 6) Now you have a file on your desktop called "codec_dump.txt" 7) Launch the web browser (Konqueror) and use web based email to email the file to yourself. 8) Reboot the computer and remove the Knoppix CD

Monkey_@@
Great MadTux, this is working great with my ALC268!!! The Headphones/Internal Speakers toggle is very nice! Now, about the mic: 1. There is a very nice option available: "Use ambient noise reduction"! This allowed me to use RosettaStone for the first time!!! Thanks! 2. There is no input control option for the mic, is it always at the maximum? It seems that the mic volume when using Skype is a little low... 3. Still no toggling from Internal/External (jack) mic as in the collit99 kext, but there is no noise as that kext still does... So, congratulations and thanks! braveskunk
yup, nice to hear it worked for you, but in my case theres still kernel panics on boot in both cases(A and the pictures show whats happening when booting and the kernel panic dump shows... the kernel panic:) as you can see on the first photo, theres many iokit errors made by applehda on the second u can see that hdaenabler is loaded succesfully. as always, kernel dump attached. mudtux, any ideas? maybe i'll give you my codec dump? will it help? kextd_2008_10_23_180533_ania_makowskas_mac_pro.crash.zip
