zico
Hi All I have a problem with my ADD2 card. I have the following configuration.: Mobo: Intel 945GNTLKR CPU: Pentium D 930 RAM : 4GIG MONITOR : DELL 2405 ADD2 Card: ADD-7307-DVI-R PixelView ADD card II for PCI Express 16X from prolink OS X : 10.4.5 From the patched DVD every thing works even resolution change. When I use the VGA connector of the mobo everything goes well and I can reach the maximum monitor resolution of 1920x1200 and my monitor will be correctly identified. Whenever I use the ADD2 I see all kernel messages (-v option at start) up to the GUI. The monitor goes to sleep mode and there is no way to see anything . Please ADD2 card owners who use single digital monitor: Is there any solution for such a problem I have tried everything in the BIOS and nothing worked out. Please Please Answer ASAP. marliwahoo
The problem, most likely, is not in bios. Because it is after the boot up - the problem is probably in the OS. The following worked for me. Keep the add2 card installed. Disconnect the display plugged into the add2 card. Boot. After a full boot - plug in the second display. Then in the moniter control panel go to "detect display" then "gather windows" reset the refresh rate to anything that works. It should boot fine after that. Hi marliwahoo Thank you so much for your reply. I did exactly what you asked me to do. I booted using an analog monitor alone but the moment you connect the Dell 2405 OS X hangs and a hard reboot through the power supply is required. Did you try connecting you PC with the digital only. Is there a way or a file that I can edit to keep the refresh rate of my 2405 withen specs. Thank you for helping me out. guilliamo
This link: <http://www.prolink-usa.com/item_disp.php?upc=4711845391173> indicates that the Prolink card you have: Product Specification: Chrontel CH7307B Chipset. Fully PCI-Express slot compatible; PCI-E type: 4X-N type. support resolution upto 1600x1200 completer windows and DOS driver support Board Dimension 144.75mm x 47.68 mm (+/-0.2mm) Blue color DVI hot plug; DVI N type for ATX ATX Low Profile bracket included DVI Transmitter up to 173 MHz Fully support Intel Grantsdale-G (915G series) chipset The ADD2 cards that I KNOW work with my Intel D915GAG motherboard and Dell FPW2405 monitor use a Silicon Image Orion chipset and support the 1920 by 1200 native resolution. Part numbers shown in the WIKI. Recommend you borrow a lower resolution DVI LCD monitor to try. MY suspicion is that the Prolink/Chrontel card may really not go above 1600 by 1200 OR may have some sort of driver problem once the OS is fully loaded. I've had ZERO problems with my setup, running just the Dell FPW2405 in DVI mode at 1920 by 1200 in 10.4.1, 10.4.3 & now 10.4.5.
