I try to use Final Cut But it always crushing I don't know what to do.

Try the following, one after the other until some gets Final Cut Pro working.....

1. Enable Quartz GL using OSX86Tools software if Quartz GL is not already enabled

2. Check that your Ethernet port is set to en0 because Final Cut Pro (FCP) AFIK looks for en0 which is the integrated Ethernet port available on all real Macs.

If your active onboard Ethernet port or PCI NIC Ethernet port is not en0, then FCP will not work.....so delete /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and reboot and check if your active Ethernet port is listed as en0.....

3. Repair Compressor......see here......

4. But AFIK QMaster handles distributed processing to render farms using more than one networked OS X computer to run Compressor.......so with only one OS X computer to be used for FCP, backup and rename Qmaster.framework to be found in /Library/Frameworks/ as /Library/Frameworks/Qmaster.framework.bad......or just delete it as you still have it backed up....

You'll have to format the partitiom you want to install Vista on to NTFS....

BUT I had a problem where it wouldn't install even when I reformated it...I had to delete ALL partitons and create new ones, and install Vista THEN Mac OSX!!!!

You could have that problem aswell..

You may have formatted it improperly...When formatting to NTFS, be sure that you set the partition as a Primary Partition, NOT Logical partition. I had that problem a couple times.

Okay. so I've managed to attempt an install 8 different times, but I can't figure out exactly what setup and options and drivers to select. I've gone through so many different options it's hard to remember which ones I used, but what I'm really wondering, is who has experience with this, and can tell me what settings/drivers I'll need to use. I've managed to get it to initial boot, but it hangs on unable to boot primary drive or whatever it said. Sorry if I'm not much help, but it was really early in the morning when I did this, and I just got done installing ubuntu/vista on my system -just now- I was only able to find this by searching on my phone.. -any- help would be much appreciated... thanks in advance...

Hi there,

This is how we will approach matters:

1. Physically remove one of your ASUS ENGTX 260 graphics cards

2. Disconnect 1 of your SATA DVDRWs

3. Using the SATA drive for OS X would be best as external USB would be too slow and IDE too small.....

4. Set up your BIOS settings according to the recommended BIOS settings for 790i Ultra in post #1 of my thread

Also, I need to know how much MOBO RAM you have installed......before step 5......

Thanks. I'll be posting more about this in a little bit, as I really only have time to do this on the weekend >.> and given the fact the weekend is almost over, it'll be a royal pain in the buttocks to try and do this during the week (I work 10 hours days during the week, and would die if I didn't have an up and running computer) But I'll try this and get back with you and post results in a bit....

OK......also is your iPC version the Final Version patched with Patch Version 1.1, or just the Beta patched to PPF5?

See my blog for iPC install guide.....recommend you set up your SATA HDD for OS X as per post #1 in this thread.......

Alright guys im new to the forums here wanna kinda introduce myself alittle bit. The names Brian am i'm not new to computers or their components. I'm 17 and have been fiddling with computer since i was probably 5 haha. So that's a little background on me, But what im trying to find out is why i can't seem to get these "hackintosh" .iso's to work. I've tried the iAtkos or whatever it's called exactly (im at work at the moment so don't have everything at my finger tips) and the ToH x86 RC2 one. Now the iAtkos one would only get so far as to run off acouple of line when starting the install then just reboot, so i tried this ToH one and this one will run through the whole i would assuming the DOS like loading of files but then would come to a loading type of screen and sit forever saying

"Kernel version

Darwin kernel version 8.8.1: sat dec 9 22:18:27 AZOT 2006; semthex:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RElEASE_I386"

nothing past that. Now here are my specs:

EVGA 790i FTW Mobo

Intel E8400

Patriot Viper 2000 MHz Ram

EVGA GTX 295 video card

1TB WD HDD

and a D-link pci-e wifi card if that really matters

now im hoping someone could possibly help me with this in some way now my computer is far beyond handling a Mac, but possibly some of my hardware is not compatabile idk. So if anyone has any suggestions please post them, I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time guys.

OK.....here we go:

1. Check and change your BIOS settings to match those recommended in post #1 in this thread for 780i

With your MOBO you must set RAID to [Enable] before you can set Serial-ATA Controller to [All Enabled]

2. I am assuming that you HDD is SATA.....what about your DVDRW(s)....SATA or PATA?

3. How much MOBO RAM have you got fitted?

4. How much video RAM does your GFX card have?

5. Is the whole HDD free to be partitioned for OS X or do you want to dual boot or not (or possibly in the future)?

My HHD is SATA and so is my DVD drive. I have 4 Gigs of ram, and my video card has 1792 Megs of ram on it. My HDD already has Vista 64-bit installed on it and i partitioned off 10 of space for leopard just to try it.

Now why would i enable RAID if i only have 1 HDD and am not in a RAID setup?

OK is the 10GB partitioned as NTFS? If so then use Disk Utility to format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).......initially do not install any video, audio or network drivers from the Customize menu of your install DVD......boot the Install DVD with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048.....

Because that is what your BIOS requires you to do in order to enable SATA mode.....RAID mode for the SATA HDD is itself set [Disabled].....as you will see in your BIOS....

format it in the mac DVD Disk Utility, if i get it to load up?

If you are able to boot the OS X Install DVD (assuming you do not get a "still waiting for root device" error", which you may do with a SATA DVDRW), you will be able to run Disk Utility from on the DVD......if you can borrow a PATA DVDRW for the install that will simplify matters.......

Off to sleep now.....post details of the iATKOS version you have when you get back from work......I will check back tomorrow on your progress/problems...... :)

Alright yah i tried it with RAID enabled and so idk if you want any raid configs enabled or just RAID enabled? and so i tried it with both the iATKOS DVD and the ToC RC2 DVD idk which one you want me to use? They still get to the same exact same place as before, and no i can not get ahold of a PATA DVD drive. I have iATKOS_v1.0i. So yah im at a loss right now haha, any suggestions are appreciated thanks.

You need to set up you BIOS just as it is shown in my BIOS template for 780i......including setting RAID to [Enable] with all SATA Primary/Secondary RAID channels set to [Disabled] and Serial-ATA Controller set to [All Enabled].....

If you do not have any more up to date distro DVDs to hand, then you need to patch iATKOS v1.0ir2 (I am assuming this is what you have?) to v1.0ir3 using the EqUaTe patch......see here......and see the iATKOS v1.0ir3 guide here......

Otherwise, get Kalyway 10.5.2 (can be updated to 10.5.6 easily) or iPC 10.5.6........

Could you please explain one and two for me? I dont have an OS X Install DVD, what would you suggest?

I am planning on giving 150-200 GB to OS X closer too 150.

How do I find how much VRAM my GFX cards have?

You need to boot into your BIOS......usually by pressing the Delete key on boot up......but you should get a message telling you what key to press to enter Setup or BIOS....

If you cannot find out from Vista.....or did not buy the two graphics cards seperately, I will assume they are the standard reference NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT cards with 512MB each.....

150 GB is a decent size.....is the 150GB space currently formatted as a NTFS volume.....

I do not currently have a partition set aside for OS X, but Its pretty easy to do I'v got everything I need for that. Does it need to be formatted as NTFS?

I think my BIOS is different because I have a Blackbird, check it out its made by VooDoo PC.

I think your right about the GFX cards.

Do you know if there are drivers for all of my specs? And. What disk would you suggest for installing OS X?

I would suggest iPC 10.5.6 Final Version with Patch V1.1......

Format it as NTFS in Vista.....

Do you have the full model details......i.e. which Blackbird model.....please post screen shots of the BIOS parameter menus and sub-menus, with current settings and setting options......as none of the online manuals I have found cover the BIOS settings.....but check if the following matches and set the parameters in red as shown.....disabling Spread Spectrum Control should improve performance......

I don't really know what model it is, how might I find this?

How do I take a screenshot of the BIOS? I know how to take a normal screenshot......

And, why do I need to disable these things in the BIOS?

Thanks,

With a digital camera or mobile phone camera.....but first go into BIOS and check your BIOS settings against those in my post above.....

Run CPUID in Vista to get system details....

You said you wanted maximum performance.......so having HDD SMART Monitoring and Spread Spectrum Control enabled both slow things down.....

OK it looks like it is a standard 780i BIOS.....possibly Asus 780i MOBO....more likely a EVGA 780i motherboard (see here).....so carry on checking out your BIOS settings as per my guide......

Would it be possible set the three partitions, install OS X, then install Chameleon bootloader, then install the two others operating sytems? Do you think this would work well?
