~pcwiz
What more can I say? The much awaited Final Release of OSx86 Tools is here for the public. This version features everything that's been worked on so hard for the last few months by me, other developers and testers. What it has in a nutshell: - We've reached final release, shall we talk more? - Pretty much all bugs (hopefully) have been fixed - New GUI for FDISK/EFI by ColdStart - New refreshed GUI version of Boot Editor - Tools to generate and manipulate EFI strings - Major Download and Install Drivers feature for 1 click driver installation New users can download the final release from our Google Code downloads page here. And existing users of OSX86Tools builds 140 through 149 can use the automatic updater to download and install the latest update. Please give me time to update the OSx86 Tools website with the news If you experience any bugs or problems with OSx86 Tools please post here and I'll see what I can do. Most likely if many bugs are reported I'll have to make an emergency 1.1 release. Hope you all enjoy~ EDIT: Lol my comment to check the Credits was removed as "blog spam". Note to mod: I wasn't trying to spam, I was trying to give proper credit to the people that deserve it because I'm not the only one to thank
bofors
Thanks again, downloading now. In future versions of OSx86Tools, it would great to see some of the problems I ran into addressed: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...&pid=882049 I mean: (1) "manual" fdisk activation of partitions (normal and RAID). (2) fix "cross disk" installation of Chameleon and add RAID installation of Chameleon. (3) add capacity to burn custom Boot-132 ISOs by selecing kexts (that work). ~pcwiz
I was actually planning on doing number 3, probably for a future release. About 1 and 2 I will take a look at the problems you experienced and the solutions and see if I can automate the process Thanks for the suggestions

bonjoey
and i thought everything is alright, but after reboot, i noticed i lost QE/CI on my 8600gt broke my wifi driver. so when you download/install the drivers, does it install everything? i thought you can install only the one you choose. it happened on my 2nd rig, doing restore now 'cause after i loaded punk92's drivers, for some reason i lost the dvi output. too much hassle to reinstall the kexts hopefully no one else encountered these. nonetheless, good work

XanthraX
Thanks ~pcwiz for your jewel. Unfortunately, I found a small problem. I tried to see if it will detects my hardware and it forces me to chose between 3 sound cards, i have not. I have ALC883. Cancelling this dialog, it will stop all of the hardware detection. eject
i have also to choose between audio codec i don't have or it will stop. i'm using tarugas patcher with a STAC9221D dump and a patched applehda.kext, and so far there is no other solution, but i started living with it. if i choose one by random it seems to work and shows solution for my usb, network and ihc7 but then, this has never made problems or needed fixing

~pcwiz
bonjoey, Yes it installs everything that is listed there. If you don't want it to install something then click on the item you want to remove and click "Remove Item" XanthraX, That's just a little problem with ALC883 not being in the codecs list. I'll add it in the next release, for the meanwhile, just choose something random (e.g. ALC889A) and when its finished detecting your hardware just click on the entry and remove it. eject, Same solution as XanthraX but can you give me a screenshot of the audio codec choose dialog you get so I can add the codec? ~pcwiz
Thanks. And just some clarification to those who are using the driver installer, even if you have already installed the drivers it will still always list them. I maybe could figure out some sort of MD5 verification system so that the drivers don't show up if they've been installed, but no guarantees there. KJ4860
Awesome release!!! This may very well be the beginning of a new OS for many that were previously deterred by the thought of having to search for drivers.
eject
eject, Same solution as XanthraX but can you give me a screenshot of the audio codec choose dialog you get so I can add the codec? no problem, here it comes but the codec i use is no real fix, it just gives you sound output and volume control but it seems to be the only way to get this and therefor it's better then nothing, i also attach it, no idea if you need it you guys are really cool, many people would just sit back with there system workig because they have the skill and couldn't be bothered by us (me) loosers Audio_Setup_Sigmatel_9220.zip

Beerkex'd
The one tool that everybody needs. Thanks pcwiz. It's funny, when I click download and install hardware drivers, it goes through the detection but nothing appears in the box. I guess it just shows how amazingly compatible my motherboard is. AFAIK everything is running on Apple drivers, but shouldn't it at least show my video card? Maybe the ID isn't in the database.
