felixity
I've got similar problems as you do. If you can understand and work with the unix commands (?), maybe you could have a look at XFree86 v4.5.0 to see whether it can be incorporated into the system?? I know it supports SIS chipsets. There was also mention of OSX on the site I believe... I have no idea about the languague used in OSX so I am also looking for people who might be able to try this out for me!! Thanks!! Guest bikedude880
Development on a driver for SiS ATA is in development. One of the things holding back progress is device and vendor id's along with proper timing values for UDMA. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=35861&st=0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12467-chipset-sis/#findComment-255882 Share on other sites
caffinefree
Hopefully this helps North Bridge Controller SiS651 Host South Bridge SiS962L MuTLOL Media I/O Vendor 1039 Device ID 5513 IDE UDMA Controller Mother board Asus P4S533-MX I've been trying everyones different methods for more than a year and I've never been able to get past the "Still waiting for root device" in the installation screen. Other than the motherboard, all the hardware I have in this case works and is recogcause. I swapped this board for an AsRock P4i65G intel board and OSX 10.4.6 installed without a hitch. Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12467-chipset-sis/#findComment-256037 Share on other sites
