[solved] X11 doesn't start (Retail install, console log included)

Hi,

 

I've successfully installed Leopard (Retail Disk) using LTL's guide on this board, however it seems that I can't get X11 start.

 

The following lines appear in the console when I attempt to launch X11:

My System:

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4, E8600 C2D, 2x 2GB Ram, nvidia 8800GT 512MB, 2 S-ATA HDDs (1x 750GB, 1x 320GB), S-ATA LG DVD-Drive/Burner

 

installed from Retail Disk (10.5.4 and post-patch.sh applied), Chameleon boot loader, video card enabled via EFI-Studio, sound enabled via HDApatcher, CHUD installed + shutdown patch applied, fixed NetworkInterfaces.plist to get SuperDuper running.

I had exactly the same problem on my Retail install.

 

Luckily I have another Kalyway machine on the network, so I just copied the x11 from that machine, and hey presto! It now works.

 

Go to Apple's website and download X11

Hi, and thanks for replying,

 

I already deleted my Kalyway installation and replaced it with a backup of this install. Reinstalling X11 from the Retail Disk didn't fix the problem for me.

 

I did a search for "/usr/X11/libexec/x11-exec: Unable to find application for org.x.X11" on google and it seems that even some users of real Macs are afflicted by this problem. The solution is to install XQuartz (alias X11 2.3.0) from xquartz.macosforge.org since Apple's X11 seems to be abit "out dated" .

 

My X11 works now, and soon i will be able to do the final backup
