Okey lets start with the basics.

I'm probably going to buy a new computer (Hacintosh) and have already decided on which case to buy.

I need a mATX mobo that has digital surround sound (Onboard of course), thats almost the biggest must have.

Onboard grafics could be okey but not a must.

Onboard LAN doesn't have to work, probably going for a Wifi card.

If there is Hardware RAID I would probably use it but if not, it's okey.

Front USB would also be nice if that worked.

If there is problems with sleep I don't care. Haven't used it before so I'm probably not going to use it in the future. :)

The performance is quite of an importance. I'm probably going for a Intel core2Duo or Quad Processor but I feel that the mobo must be up for the task.

Can you be so kind to direct me in the right direction to which mobo to buy I would be gratefull!  :D

Also say what pros and cons you can come up with would be great!

Thanks!

Intel DG31PR

Does the S/PDIF connector work with OSX?

Because thats not on the backpanel and I'd guess id need a special cable to get S/PDIF?

I also found the Asus P5K-VM. Haven't really found if someone have had succes with 5.1 sound, but if someone have please post it.

No idea about either the board or the card.

My motherboard (see sig) is very cheap (less then 50USD)

and it works well with OSX. You will need to sacrifice the following things though:

S3 Sleep doesn't work at all with 10.5.4

S1 Sleep kindof works with 10.5.4 works with 10.5.1

No Mic in

Crappy onboard GMA 950 video (might be fixed in later versions of OS)

Sorry but what I can find is that there isn't any SPDIF ports on that board. (?)
