dabest80
Thanks so much LRZRAGE!! This worked perfectly for my dv9700t. threw in a broadcom card that OS X likes and I'm happy! The reason your 4311 is being rejected by your HP computer is because that particular card is not on the whitelist for that particular HP model, even after your rebrand operation. It doesn't matter if it's an HP-branded card - the whitelist only allows certain cards depending on your computer model. Read the topic closely. You could try to figure out what the allowed cards in your whitelist are, and then rebrand accordingly if something close to the 4311 is allowed. Search around for how to do that. Do not arbitrarily rebrand your wifi card though... Also, I believe it's been stated a few times in this forum that the Insyde BIOS you're referring to cannot currently be hacked to disable the whitelist check for wifi cards. Again, read closely. Dude, major props... your hacked BIOS and method for F.59A worked perfectly for me on my HP dv9700t - thanks! Did you just download the F59A bios from HP along with the 30CCF59_patched_.rar, and then follow the directions in LRZRAGE's original post? I have a DV9700T that I would like to mod, but I want to make sure that it will not brick my laptop.

louvean
Hi everybody, I actually have an HP DV5 1010ef laptop. I wanted to ask you for some help. This laptop comes with an Intel 5100 wireless card which is not correctly detected by OSx. So I intend to change it for another card. Could you tell me which model of wireless card could be installed on it so I don't have to bypass this whitelist ? ( and furthermore, be correctly detected by OSx as a working wireless card). Any help would be very appreciated Thanks, Louvean

giara
hi there, very useful everything you write out there... i have a problem with mine dv6000. i formated it, installed win xp home, all the drivers and the machine was ready to "fly". until the moment I flashed the F.29 bios on the F.09 that it had... from that moment windows do not even open and it shows a blue screen with non-understoodable words in it, for a few seconds. I do not get why the latest ver, does this, but what counts is that I cannot use my pc at all... I tried some things (extracting some files into a cd and then try to boot with it, taking of the battery for a 30 min time...etc) but nothing helped. I understand now, that I have to bring it back to the older ver., the F.09 to work normally again. or is it not this the way...??... any opinion would be very helpful I hope... (notice that i have the dv6187ea)
Slither2008
Thank you very much this worked perfectly with my HP DV6521TX Australian model. I downloaded the bios version F.59 A from the HP site and then followed the instructions using the patched F.59 provided on this thread. I had to do this in Vista btw. it very was painful. I now can boot with my Broadcom wifi card. Cheers mate!
