Coolin93
Ok well here's my specs AMD 64 Athlon X2 1.7Ghz(TK-53) 2gigs of DDR2 Ram nVidia GeForce 6100 integrated graphics card(I have the virtual RAM set to 128mb) Conexant High Definition Audio built in speakers(sorry there's no more info I can't find anymore on it) nVidia nForce 430/410 motherboard(I think this is the motherboard, sorry I'm a noob to this) Not sure about the hard drive but I know its a 80gig Hitachi IDE Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN card(again I don't know the rest about it) and the disc drive is an Optiarc(not sure of the exact model etc.) I have a USB keyboard and mouse in case the PS/2 ones built in don't work. And I am not going to use the internal HD I'm going to buy an external one so what would be a good one to get to work with Leo? Also which distro would work best with my set up, I've seen a lot of ones for AMD but I don't know whats best. -Coolin93 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119570-getting-os-x-to-work-on-a-compaq-presario-f572-laptop/ Share on other sites
c_c
well you can try leo4all v3. That seems to work fine. I have created my own DVD using the brazilmac patch for my F730US (which has pretty much the same config except for the processor). Most amd dvd's should work for you - make sure they have MeDevils sata driver if you plan on using the internal hdd. External hdd's should be no prob with just about any dist. Once you are set up - take a look at my thread (link in sig) for resolving some common issues. Coolin93
Hey thanks dude! EDIT: So I won't have to worry about what driver I choose for an internal hard drive cause it should just pick up the external through USB?( I plan on getting one that connects via USB) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119570-getting-os-x-to-work-on-a-compaq-presario-f572-laptop/#findComment-847701 Share on other sites
