I'm somewhat of a minimalist. Heavy 3D eye-popping wallpaper that seems to have infected the Internet's free desktop wallpaper sites aren't my cup of tea. For the longest time, I was using a very minimal solid black wallpaper with a big, bright, white Apple Logo right in the center. While this is good stuff, I wanted to spice it up a bit because black and white is only so exciting. After being inspired by Dell's multi-color lid option on these new Inspirons, I've decided to release 10 colorful Apple Logo wallpaper in 1280×800 format. Sorry for anyone who doesn't conform to my screen resolution — you will be assimilated shortly.

Graphic guru? I got you covered because I've included the PSD source file of my wallpaper so you can make it your own! Feel free to publish these files anywhere as long as you mention or link my blog (URL in signature).

PSD Source (File is too big to upload at InsanelyMac!): http://rapidshare.de/files/40165705/ApplePSD.psd.html

I have all of them in my Wallpapers directory and they rotate every time I log in. I plan on making them in hundreds of different shades although I won't be releasing any more than what's below. Enjoy!

Oooh, I love it :(

I was always fond of the default Tiger wallpaper. I ran it for a long time before adjusting to Leopard's "space" stuff. Then I alternated between OS X Server (Blue) and the original. Now I'm quite happy with my rotating wallpaper above. :-)

Enjoy.

Since I already had the overlay open (Tiger wallpaper @ 1280x800, 19% opacity FYI), here are some other colors. These aren't all of them because some just didn't look all that great with the Tiger wallpaper overlaying.

Indeed it is. Somebody's blog lied to me when I did a Google Image search for "Tiger Wallpaper" -- I even did a quick comparison with the real Tiger wallpaper, and I think with these minimal designs that it's Panther FTW. Glad you guys like 'em!

Thank you for all the positive reviews! This thread has gotten over 1,300 views on InsanelyMac and thousands more directly on my blog. I'm glad you enjoy the wallpaper. I may be releasing another series based on the Leopard wallpaper soon for those of you who are using the blue Server wallpaper and like as many colors as the new nanos.

Thanks, guys!

methamp,

Sweet work man! But I second the 1680 x 1050 resolution, or even the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Then it would be usuable for just about everyone...

Thanks,

Cody

I recreated the image in 1680x1050 using the PSD file posted by methamp. I basicly copied his apple symbol into a blank 1680x1050 image (layer 3) and combined it with the resized blue background that is used in the PSD file (layer 1). I had to recrerate the glow around the Apple symbol (layer 2, gray apple with 15% visibility) since Pixelmator (nice little image editor) didn't show it for some reason.

Any program that can handle Photoshop files should be able to open the image. Change the Background layer to whatever you want. Remove/adjust Layer 2 incase you don't like the "aura" around the logo.

I only did some editing, credits go to methamp.

Why "Righteye" when it's clearly the left.....?
