Hey guys,

I was successful in updating Kaly 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 using the Kaly combo update.

Now when I try to use the 10.5.4 standalone update (downloaded from Apple) I get a Kernel Panic DURING the 10.5.4 update and then I get Panics on boot.

I had a look and every time I try to install 10.5.4 update it inserts "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext" is this what is crashing my Hackintosh during the update?

What options do I have for applying the 10.5.4 update if it keeps throwing up Kernel panics during the install process?

very interesting - couldn´t notice the installation of this kext with the "non combo" update. you´re sure using the right one? otherwise you have to use netkas instructions to avoid the install of AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and the startup scripts - http://netkas.org/?p=50

This did the trick... in fact I had a spurt of confidence and I decided to have a go at installing Kaly's 10.5.2 from DVD then updating directly to 10.5.4 using Netkas' script. IT WORKS PERFECTLY!

I was getting annoyed at Kaly's combo update to 10.5.3 it kept breaking all my xvid and divx support!
