happy to report that my new system runs well (except of sleepmode) on 10.5.4 with this configuration/installation:

Hardware:

D945GCLF (Bios V0099)

2GB AENEON DDR2-667 RAM

80GB Seagate IDE HDD

Toshiba Samsung DVD-ROM Drive

Standard ATX 250W PSU (still waiting for my morex cubid 3677 with PSU) :D

USB Mouse & Keyboard

Software:

Kalway 10.5.2 DVD

I deselected everything except of following:

(german language pack)

Vanilla Kernel

Intel HD Audio controller

Realtek AC97 codec

Realtek 1000 ethernet

standard smbios

HDD in GUID Mode.

After installation the System didnt boot, i then booted from an win98 cd, ran fdisk and activated the nondos partition which fdisk recognized.

Then booting directly from hdd with GUID Layout was no problem.

In OSX i installed following kexts:

AppleACPIPlatform.kext (patched to enable restart function)

AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext 1.4.20.28 from GMA Package of this Forum

(i still got mouse cursor errors, and the small square in top left corner, but changing the resolution was now possible)

after that i installed directly original 10.5.4 combo update from apple website with script trick for deleting AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext,

and then replacing Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext with dsmos.kext in InstallatStartup Script. No need for kalway 10.5.3 update or something.

After Update to 10.5.4 there are NO Graphic errors anymore, and all is working great except of sleep mode.

(after update to 10.5.4 i had to install the patched AppleACPIPlatform.kext again)

the system is running with newest vanilla kernel 9.4.0 without problems.

smbios reports Boot-ROM-Version LF94510J.0099.2008 (=original data from bios)

for some apps i have to change the smbios.kext maybe... well, we will see.

not complaining, just saying lol...have a seat calm your nerves lol

that mozart case is huge...i saw it in microcenter the other day

not really this all depends on where and how you shop in the great world of ebay and closeout deals, and what you consider {censored} is your opinion....i've had quite a few, some have worked well, some haven't. all manufacturers have their faulty devices

I would recommend the Mozart case for anyone who wants to run a hack and a pc in the same case. Also add a touchscreen and run OSX on the 7" retractable screen

hi,

i get the file here in the forum somewhere, dont know where exactly that was.

anyway, here is the File.

btw. i get my morex cubid 3677 case today, great case, but i had to "dremel" the hdd&dvd-drive holder a little bit, so that the CHipset cooler fits.

and i had to solder the 4pin 12v power connector for the board to the atx power cable, because there was none.

only the dvd drive isnt here, using an usb external atm.

Okay,

I got my $250.00 Intel mini ITX set up last night. Here is the issue. I loaded the Kalway 10.5.2 and installed the OS. Everything was working that I tested for example the sound, internet, video and most programs. I am also able to do a software updates. Well after I restart I get this black screen. I've tried to re-install the os again with out doing any software updates and get the same black screen after reboot.

This is what the black screens says:

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (Build 082)

Copyright © 1997-2000 Intel Corp

For Realtek RTL 81113B/8111C/8101E Ethernet Controller v2.12a (071220)

Client Mac Address: 00 1C C0 46 48 F4 GUID: 22EDBE48-2616-11DD-AE73-0011113186F6

PXE-E53: No Boot File Name Recieved

PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM

_

This just hangs at the flashing underscore. It looks like something to do with not knowing what to boot into but I'm a bit of a noob so bare with me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have reinstalled Kayway 10.5.2 several times now. If I apply the graghic fix (with kext helper) after installation (still 10.5.2) -> I can change resolution but i still have mouse artifacts.

Then i installed the Kayway Combo update to 10.5.3 and i'm again stuck to 1024x768. after i apply the fix again -> same problem (resolution ok but artifacts...)

Then i installed 10.5.4 via software update -> no change, even after applying the fix again...

Plz someone help my I don't know what else i can try to get rid of those damn artifacts...

Alright I found the answer to my problem. I needed to make the partition active for the system to boot. I used these instructions and it worked great.

I had the same issue, requiring the DVD in the drive to boot. Fixed it by doing this:

Reboot using the Kalyway DVD

Start the terminal once the disk is loaded

Using the following command, identify which partition your Leopard installation is on.diskutil list

Once you’ve identified which disk (disk0, disk1, etc…) use the following commands to mark the partition active.fdisk -e /dev/rdisk# --> where # is the number of the disk.

p --> will show you the partitions list, to confirm you're on the right disk.

f # --> where # is the number of the partition to mark active

w --> write changes

q --> quit

reboot

I'm documenting the same kind of install on my blog:

http://www.subnet192.com/?page_id=53

This thread helped me with the video fix (I had fixed resolution before this). Thanks

what exactly is it doing when it says "verifying disc contents" or something like that once you press install? because it said install failed during that, something about not being able to verify "basecontents".... can I just skip this process?

I've always skipped that. I'm not exactly sure what it does.

actually it said "checking for consistency" now that i started it a second time

i burned it with no errors, so i just skipped it this time.

ok, even though i skipped it it says

"Install Failed

Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer

The Installer could not validate the contents of the 'BaseSystem' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

Click Restart to restart your computer and try install again."

Just to be clear, how are we supposed to format the drive? Under Format: it has Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and I did set it as MBR under options. That's the only thing I think could be wrong. I dunno.

Has anyone tried adding bluetooth?

Yes. I'm using a bluetooth Apple keyboard with a generic bluetooth adapter I got for $5 some years ago. It works great except when you need to work in the BIOS or Darwin settings - have a USB or PS2 keyboard handy!

Since nobody is able to help me with my graphic problems, is there somebody who can tell me why i get a 1.6 GHz Unknown Processor instead of a Core Solo?

I have the same graphics issues and the same 1.6GHz unknown.

I've just learned to live with the graphics slight glitches and don't really care what the About this Mac shows...

Does anyone have issues with the lan internet connection losing connectivity after 20 minutes or so? Mine will work fine for the the first 20 minutes or so then it will time out. If I restart the PC I will regain my connection everytime. Any help would be great.

I am up to date with OSX 10.5.4. I started with Kalyway 10.5.2 and had the same issue. Then did the 10.5.3 combo upgrade still same issue. I thought with getting this up to date would fix the issue but it has not. Everything else seems to work well.

Did you assign IP address manually? It seems that using DHCP does not work very reliably.
