lykos73
Why the three cases and the two memory sticks? I would stay away from the 60 watt power supply.

maccompaq
Whether the USB device will work depends on the device. Any UVC webcam should work... (UVC is Vista standard)... Patrick USB devices must be plugged in before booting or they will not be recognized.

tangix2001
That is the same case I got and its perfect. Small footprint, good quality, so far power supply working quiet and cool. First of all, thank you all for sharing your experiences with this system. The instructions posted by MrFlood and wwwsn00per were very well written and easy to follow. I got the same Apex MI-100 case. One silly question, though: Which side do you have the side vent facing? I have it facing downwards but this seems to defeat its purpose as air can no longer circulate there. I barely use the CD drive so I don't mind keeping it on its side most/all of the time. Side note: Initially, I just shoved the optical drive into the case. It was a tight fit and the optical drive would endlessly spaz out after waking up from standby. I eventually figured I should remove the front bezel before sliding the drive in. This created a gap between the case's front bezel button and the actual drive's button so I just taped a thick bubblegum lump of paper over the button to make the front bezel button functional. I was surprised that it took this much effort to get the drive to play nice with this case. I hadn't read any similar problems so I'm sure my experience was a freak occurrence. bibendum
USB devices must be plugged in before booting or they will not be recognized. Generally not true. I hot swap webcam/thumbdrive/harddrives/iPhone/iPod/etc from USB all the time. Patrick
maccompaq
Generally not true. I hot swap webcam/thumbdrive/harddrives/iPhone/iPod/etc from USB all the time. Patrick Try this: unplug ALL USB devices, boot the computer, then plug in a USB device to see if it will be recognized.
defn
I think it is also advantageous to make sure `uname -a` and Extensions.mkext/version.plist match in their version number.
lh99
Is there anything that needs to changed in the bios? Nope. I changed a few things in power management and disabled some of the on-board peripherals for my specific setup, but you shouldn't have to change anything to get a typical OS X install working. V3RT1G0
so hows the performance? im having doubts now because the dual core atom is coming out in either sept-dec, and that looks exciting, but idk if i can wait! also the dell mini and slim are coming out and they start at 299, so much to choose from! so is it deal able? and can it play basic videos like divx/xvid, and run youtube and other flash apps decently? copy838
I use MSIWINDOSX.iso, default setting to setup for 10.5.4, then re-patch with Graphic Fix. Sleep - Restart - Shutdown all work.
The ePic One
Sorry to burst the bubble, but i'd like my perfect hackintosh fitted with a dedicated video card, and preferrably a better processor. It's all well and good, that it works perfectly! But i'd like a better processor preferrably and an onboard gfx card. For games/video editing etc.. macspc
Does anyone know the approx height of the heatsink/fan on this little mobo? It will help decide what kind of case I will build/buy and if I want to use slim DVD and 2.5" hard disk or 5.25" DVD and 3.5" hard disk.
TeddyTed2T
has anyone tried the new iATKOS 10.5.4 release? I did, but it didn't work out for me. It kept rebooting in a loop. Didn't want to deal with it anymore so I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 then updated to 10.5.4 works great.
