netkas Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Netkas told me to set my Graphics to PEG2, I cannot find where that is in my bios. Does the 2nd GPU have to be in 2nd PCI slot or can i leave it in 3rd? then its peg3, not peg2, inital graphics port option Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AppleIIGuy Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 then its peg3, not peg2, inital graphics port option Some bioses have Initalize Graphics option it can be internal or pcie1/peg1 and pcie2/peg2 ie peg1 is first pci-e 16 port and peg2 is the second Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Numbnuts Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Try plugging your display in to your other output. I'm not sure if that suggestion was directed at me, but that worked for the resolution changing issue. Also fixed a problem that I didn't noticed until today where I couldn't adjust the color (was too washed out). I think the reboot problem went away on its own. Don't know what fixed it since I didn't do anything except install steermouse and rebooted. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kamal022 Posted June 10, 2009 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Hey everyone, check out: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1164771 and http://netkas.org/?p=105 Thanks to netkas for the heads up! Original title: Is GeForce GTX 260/280 support possible? Original post: I was looking at picking up a new card soon. Before the card came out, I read it was based on G92. I don't know if that was a rumor or not. Does anyone have one, or know what it's based on? Hi, any new updates on the GTX 295 card with QE support? asfastas63 Posted June 11, 2009 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Regarding EFI Strings and multiple monitor support, Following aquamac's guide worked to perfection, though I did make a stupid user error mistake that had me deleting the com.apple.Boot.plist changes in single user mode and trying again. These were the values that worked for me for both the in.plist and out.hex. Sorry for the exceedingly long post, if there is a better way to put it up then someone let me know and I'll edit it. Also take note that I don't take credit for any of this, all I did was follow aquamacs great instructions. For XFX GTX 280 in.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x3,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>@0,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@0,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@0,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-A</string> <key>@1,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@1,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@1,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-B</string> <key>@2,#adress-cells</key> <string>0x01000000</string> <key>@2,#size-cells</key> <string>0x00000000</string> <key>@2,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,sensor-parent</string> <key>@2,device_type</key> <string>NVDA,gpu-diode</string> <key>@2,hwctrl-params-version</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>@2,hwsensor-params-version</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>@2,name</key> <string>sensor-parent</string> <key>@2,reg</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>NVCAP</key> <data> BAAAAAAAAwAMAAAAAAAABwAAAAA= </data> <key>NVPM</key> <data> AQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA== </data> <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> <data> AAAAQA== </data> <key>device_type</key> <string>NVDA,GeForce</string> <key>model</key> <string>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280</string> <key>name</key> <string>NVDA,Parent</string> <key>rom-revision</key> <string>Hack Pro</string> </dict> </dict> </plist> out.hex dc0300000100000001000000d00300001500000002010c00d041030a010000000101060000030101 60000000101060000000101060000007fff040014000000400032002c006e0061006d00650000001 00000073656e736f722d706172656e74220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00 30069007a0065000000080000000000004036000000400032002c00680077006300740072006c002 0070006100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f006e00000008000000000000021c 000006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000100000004e5644412c4765466f7 63650e0000006e0061006d00650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e7422000000400030002c 06400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c6179100000006 006f00640065006c0000001a0000004e5649444941204765466f7263652047545820323830220000 0400031002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c6 7912000000400032002c007200650067000000080000000000000222000000400032002c00640065 076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000120000004e5644412c6770752d64696f6465200 0000400032002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c0065000000160000004e5644412c73 56e736f722d706172656e7422000000400032002c002300730069007a0065002d00630065006c006 0073000000080000000000000020000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c 0650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616314000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120 00004e5644412c446973706c61792d413a000000400032002c0068007700730065006e0073006f00 2002d0070006100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f006e0000000800000000000 0226000000400032002c0023006100640072006500730073002d00630065006c006c007300000008 000000000000114000000400031002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706 61792d4220000000400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e000000 e5644412c4e564d61631e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730069006f006e0000000 0000004861636b2050726f100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004000000000003000c 0000000000007000000000e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kasakka Posted June 11, 2009 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Thanks for the plist and hex asfastas63. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, even after I changed the PCIRoot part to match what gfxutil gives me. Same result as when I tried doing my own plist. Maybe because my card doesn't seem to be the standard design (it's a Gainward GTX260 Golden Sample model with a different PCB and heatsink to other GTX260s I've seen) it doesn't want to budge. In any case, I went to netkas.org and downloaded his updated ATY_Init enabler and now both my displays work just fine! Both work with QE/CI too. So thanks again to netkas for his great work! NoskireFiel Posted June 12, 2009 Share Posted June 12, 2009 Sorry, but can someone make a step by step guide of how to get this to work with a GTX285 - I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from my EVGA 9800GTX+ to an EVGA GTX285, I saw the GTX285 mac edition gpu but it's hella expensive and I'm ever interested on a non-mac edition card for alot cheaper, will a PC edition card work with this or does it have to be a mac edition card? If I do end up getting a 285 what would be the required steps on getting it to work? Will the drivers that EGOvoruhk posted (thanks btw) work seamlessly? My specs are in my sig and I'm using DIGITAL_DREAMER'S retail core i7 installment of OSX 10.5.7 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=149505 thanks in advance for any help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
