icemantaz
ok so iv tried with both .ISO Original with project kexts and .ISO with modified kexts it gets to the part after i swap the retail leopard dvd and looks like its loading darwin to start installing but then my pc just restarts. its a intel Q6600, asus striker extreme with nforce chipset geforce 7800 the system just keeps rebooting. i get the same problem when i install any of the kalyway or aitkos releases except the fact i can actually get them installed it just restarts when i come to first boot them up driving me crazy all this. fjackson
Finally gave this a try last night....worked flawlessly....I downloaded the generic.iso from first post....booted with it and at the first bash prompt, removed the disk and inserted the Retail OSX DVD...pressed enter, then pressed any key to boot from DVD....installed OSX 10.5.2 rather quickly....rebooted with the Boot-132 cd back in....at the first bash prompt, pressed enter....at the 2nd prompt, typed -f -v and pressed enter....booted into OSX fine...ran software updated and took the 10.5.4 update straight from Apple, along with about 7 other updates....until now, I have never been able to go from 10.5.2 straight to 10.5.4....rebooted and went fine...no issues...Then I followed Stickman's directions for making the USB boot-132, also in the first post....and I now use it to boot instead of the CD.....I did have to use pacifist to install the audio driver from the Kalyway 10.5.2 disk and used NVInstaller_v5.2 for my video....that is the only 2 things that I have touched in the installation... Outstanding job to all who participated in the creation of this and those who created the tutorials and how to's..... Thanks to you all
ihosc
More opinions? Results? Let's post what you thinkin' about this... I include Natit.kext for my video card into the initrd.img and it loads without problem during booting. Next i tried to include patched AppleHDA.kext for my sound into initrd.img. But it doesn't load during boot up. Any idea why this is so? Was it because its the difference between the two (Natit and ALCInject)?
jamt
I booted from the "BOOT-KABYL-BUMBY.iso" unmodified, all i did was dl and burn. followed the directions to pop it out and toss in my leo disk. from there i give it the boot drive and it gives me "ebios read error" and some other jargon over and over. my leo disk did have a closing issue when burning, could that be the culprit? Riley Freeman
Worked perfect here using sabr's DS3 iso. I then used kalyway's Chameleon hard disk installer to get everything booting from hard disk without needing the cd. I just have a couple of questions about how this works. After installing the 10.5.4 combo update I had problems with shutdown and restart. Eventually I found a patched AppleACPIPlatform.kext that fixed this. I replaced the vanilla copy in the System/Libraries/Extensions folder. If I'd replaced the one in the Extras folder (which was copied to the hard disk by kalyway's Chameleon installer) would that have over-riden the vanilla one? The vanilla and patched kexts were version number 1.2.1, the one on sabr's disk is 1.0.3. If the newer version always takes precedent then do the boot-123 files only work during initial boot until they're replaced by newer system versions? Or will they always replace the original system kexts? Also, is the -f boot flag only needed after applying updates or should it always be used? I have it set in my boot.plist so it's used every time. Just wondering if that's right. Thanks
Bearcat
Will this scenario work? If I take a hard disk, put it into a usb cabinet, and connect it to a real mac (macbook, imac, or mac pro), then install Leopard to it (GUID), it will boot the mac. Can I then take that disk, remove it from the usb cabinet, and put it into a hackintosh, and use a Boot-132 CD to boot the installation? Has anyone tried this? thanks

I installed everything fine but once I update to 10.5.4 is where I had issues. What happenned to my driver? thanks, d
teknojunkie
Hi, I modified the ISO to my kext in and tried in my test pc and it worked. But when I try it on this one it says "Checksum error..... " press any key to retry. My dvd drive is a SATA Lite On DVD Drive. Thank you.
overflow1972
I had the same problem..... If you just modify the initrd.img and then change it in the iso with ultraiso.......you have a checksum error. If you modify the initrd.img and then if you create (under MACOS) a NEW iso file.......you have not this problem......and I do not understand the reason. Maybe something is wrong with ultraiso

BifBologna
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks and to report a (mostly) successful install. Using Elastics most recent (I think) ~Galaxy_Boot iso I was able to install from retail and update from 10.5 to 10.5.4 with software update. I used the Kalyway Chameleon_DFE_for_Hard_Disk.dmg with Elastics extras and now I'm booting from the HD. Restart works, sleep works except for no IP on wake and shutdown mostly works with the OS shutting down but not the hardware, sometimes. The only real problem I'm having at the moment is no audio. I just can't seem to get it to work and I think I've pretty much tried everything. I do have a couple of questions if anybody has the time to answer them. I have my video card working with nvinject. It sounds like, from the reading I've done, that EFI strings are becoming the preferred method to use. With Chameleon installed using the Kalyway tool, can I use EFI strings? Second question, If I want to add a few kexts to the Extra folders at a later date, what do I have to do to get them to load? For example, If I want to move nvinject from the extensions folder to the extras folder, what's the best method to do that. I tried several times over the last couple of days to do just that, but I could never get it to load. Thanks again to everybody who's work makes this possible, Bif ohhh... almost forgot, I used OSx86 Tools to modify my "About this Mac" but something got buggered. Now all it says is "About_Box_Processor_Label: About_Box_Single_Processor_Field_Format". I tried using the tool to restore it. Same thing. Any idas n how to fix it? I tried following the instructions for doing it manually, but AboutThisMac.strings file seems to be missing. At least it's not where it's supposed to be.
