So like if I add a patched AppleHDA.kext to the Extra folder then I have to delete the original AppleHDA.kext? That doesn't make too much sense to me...

Don't use that one so can't say anything. I use the extra folder only for this:

AppleAHCIPort.kext

AppleAPIC.kext

AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext

AppleSMBIOS.kext

Disabler.kext

dsmos.kext

IONetworkingFamily.kext

JMicronATA.kext

SMBIOSEnabler.kext

But I had problems trying to make NVKush to work(it didn't add QE/CI support). When I installed it into system extensions it did though so experiment and find which kexts work and which don't.....Sorry for not being more helpful.

so do kexts added to the extras folder have to be removed from the system's extension folder?

No it's not needed! But it would be one of the first things I'd try if you're having problems loading certain kexts.

ok so i admit im coming (very) late to the party, but holy {censored} dudes, this is amazing stuff... i totally dig how the scene has progressed and the techniques have gotten more and more sophisticated.... genius!

one question - i know my hacky cant run vanilla kernel (its a pentium d)... is there any way to specify an alternate kernel as well as additional kexts? apologies if this has been addressed, i lack the mental energy to read 20 pages.... :D

Can you add EFI Strings to boot132?

A few posts here have touched on this but I didn't see a response if it works and what the confirmed process is.

Is it a matter of adding the same path and com.apple.Boot.plist file to the initrd.img extras folder?

Sorry, not sure if this belongs here or in the help section as I do have a boot132 method working.

Hi all,

Thanks for the great work here. :P

I would like to still add few kext to this iso.

Unfortunately i do not find the correct kext for my MoBo (P5E WS Pro).

My Mobo works under leo4allv3 with Audio kext ALC888 and Lan kext Marvell 8086 (skge) without problem.

Me can someone to be shown one noop as me, which kext i needs and where i find these? ;)

Big thx parcival

Finally I got it working (the previous dvd I was using wasn't retail). Seriously this is one of the biggest advance in osx86 ever. Works great. The only part I missed is the ability to install to mbr partitions (I couldn't, even with double click).

Good work to everyone who made this possible.

I don't understand what this BOOT-132 does and why it is an advancement... It's makes it where you must have a boot CD every time or just the for the installation?

Why is installing from retail better than Kalyway or iAtkos or any other?

when you update you dont need to backup your kext.

Simply press enter, than press enter again when the next screen appears. It'll cause it to boot from the default drive, which is the DVD drive in most cases.

Hope this helps!

another way to boot from hd is to make one more partition on your mac hd, format it on fat32

in windows use command

run syslinux.exe -ma -f <partition letter>: (Ex: syslinux.exe -ma -f l:)

make partition active

copy all files from your USB Drive to partition

open syslinux.cfg and remove "APPEND biosdev=81"

works great

very nice indeed.

Little retail to MBR install guide:

i installed leopard to an external guid formatted usb drive and after the install i directly bootet from the retail dvd again and used the disk utility to restore the contents from the external usb drive to my mbr partition. worked great.

update from 10.5 to 10.5.4 was no problem with apples software update. there were however some issues with my two graphic cards which i could solve now, but thats another story...

Hi mate,

I fixed the problem ith leopard not installing on the internal screen of the laptop.

If you add this file to your boot disc it will work

NSCXP2005

Natit.kext.zip
